My son & I called in about 1600 on a Friday to try the beer after new management. Ordered two pints & was asked if we would be drinking outside. Declined due to cold & directed to a table near the bar. Waited for several minutes during which another customer came in, sat at the bar & was served his pint. Three staff present, one behind the bar making a couple of cocktails(?), waitress running around serving the two or three occupied tables, & third member behind bar polishing glasses. Nobody appeared interested in pouring the two pints I had ordered. After about 10 minutes & still no beer my son & I walked out. This did not appear to bother tha staff, so perhaps that was what they wanted, customers buying expensive food rather than a couple of pints. Understandable if they were busy, but that was not the ase at that time of day. I won't be returning until the place changes hands again . . . possibly not too long to wait with that sort of service!

If I was homeless I would live in their bin (and the tattooed waitress is a comedian). Love this place.

Visited on a Monday night after a recommendation from the place we were staying. Tucked away down a little side street we only saw it because of the lovely outside lights and went to investigate.
And am very pleased we found it service was great very polite staff and food tasty and very prompt. Not the cheapest meal I’ve had but portions were good size and the homemade scotch beef burger smelled amazing so def one to try again

First visit since The Drouthy reopened under new management. Had heard nothing but good things but was actually really disappointed. On entering, and waiting at the bar area for almost 5 mins, not one member of staff acknowledged us. It wasn't particularly busy but all 3 members of staff behind the bar simply ignored us, and a waitress was too busy running around the restaurant to be able to help us.
Tables were set for dinner so we were unsure whether it was a case of simply taking a table, or waiting to be seated. Eventually got the attention of one of the staff and asked what the arrangements were for ordering food, simply to be told 'they had free tables' as he walked off. Asked a different member of staff for a drinks menu and stood for another 5 minutes waiting for someone to take our drinks order at the bar. Again - it wasn't busy (we were the only ones at the bar) and even if they had lots of table orders, at least say hi to customers and let them know you'll get to them as soon as you can!
Eventually served and took drinks to the outdoor seating. 15 mins later when we asked a 3rd member of staff for food menus we we're told they had actually stopped taking food orders. We finished our drinks and left to find somewhere else to eat.
To top it off, the only member of staff who seemed to want to serve us that evening (actually approaching us rather than us approaching the staff) was rudely reprimanded by who I assume was the manager (perhaps shift manager) for dealing with us when she should have been 'serving the man with the flowery shirt' - amazing to hear a supervisor speak to staff in that way!
It'll be a while before we go back.

Lovely place. Amazing service, drinks and food. Couldn’t have faulted it. Hubby had the steak rare and it was outstanding. Will definitely be back with friends and family.
