Great fishery for beginners and others - Good for the kids to catch that first trout for dinner. Fish were great quality, and there was plenty of helpful advice and help for those who needed it.

My first visit to a trout fishery in 10 years, on arrival myself and a mate, both new to the sport agreed to a session of fishing up to 6 hours including tuition and 2 fish each to keep, all for £20 each..,
Well Zipper the proprietor was just superb, we did in fact stay the full six hours and had a brilliant day, Zipper( real name Phil ) regularly visited us and gave us amazing tuition which was very relaxed and friendly and gave us great confidence, resulting in a good number of cought fish and a lovely haul to take home, we did in fact keep five fish, the extra was £ 2.50 a lb. As it did not look like it was going to survive, all of them were about 2lb each, a wonderfull meal....
I've lived near Dufftown for ten years and this was my first visit here, it certainly wont be my last, its superb....
If you dont have a rod, they will hire you the Rod and net for just £3 per person.... it's a bargain, a superb day out and great value.

Staying with friends and we decided to give fly fishing another go. We are complete novices and Phil AKA “Zipper” gave us plenty of his time and expert tuition to get us going.
The hire equipment was top class and after a few hours we were catching trout! Zipper kept coming back to give us tips and advice. He gave us plenty of encouragement and was a brilliant teacher and host.
I’d highly recommend a visit, the lakes are beautiful and well stocked.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 6 hours and most importantly, we wont go hungry tonight after catching our dinner!

Many thanks Zipper, we had a great time.

My son and I had a great day fishing at the glen. The fishery is now under new management and has changed considerably since the new owner took over. On arrival at the fishery, we were greeted by the new owner himself and given a full explanation of the current Covid-19 rules on social distancing and the facilities that were in place to ensure safety. I was offered a father & son two fish ticket and all within our budget for the day. Coffee soft drinks and snacks were also available, the coffee is free. There are two fly fishing only Lochs that stock Rainbow Brown and blue trout at weights of two pounds and upwards. The fishery also has two bait ponds, and these were being well used by family groups on the day we fished. This fishery is well worth a visit whether you are a beginner, a novice or an experienced angler.
