I'd never really been aware of Nairn until I needed to book accommodation close to Inverness airport - very pleasantly surprised by a really interesting town with a spectacular beach and loads to see and do nearby. I booked an Annex Apartment rather than stay in a Premier Inn (similar prices) for a 3 night stay and was glad I did. The apartment was spacious, immaculate and well equipped. The owner was very attentive and thoughtful even giving our son a birthday cake ! The bedroom had the biggest bed ever and the sofa bed (used by the children) was plenty comfy enough (not big enough for 2 adults though). The kitchen had all the necessary gadgets and utensils and the owner had provided a substantial welcome pack which was very gratefully received ! We were surprised that the apartment was 'serviced' with the towels changed and the rooms cleaned and tidied while we were out. Day trips included to Culloden Moor Battlefield Museum - brilliant, the Loch Ness Visitor Centre - brilliant and a RIB high speed boat trip on Loch Ness (out of Fort Augustus) - brilliant ! (Would recommend this boat trip rather than the more sedate trips if you can stand the cold and you don't have a bad back !!) Had (birthday) supper at the Dores Inn - very good 'pub' food. When we left, the apartment owner showed us as different route to our next holiday destination and we're glad we followed his advice - it was a spectacular journey !
