“Wonderful Break at Avernish Lodge”
Reviewed 5 April 2017 for a stay in March 2017

We could not believe what a wonderful place we found ourselves. The view from the lodge is amazing and the property is modern and great - almost like a hotel. Although we had the luck of most unbelievable good weather in March when we were there, but we can see even with bad weather we could just stay in the property to enjoy the view.
The kitchen is well equipped like cork screw & wine glasses and cafeterias which are essential for us to enjoy the view & the property morning & evening. Already plan to return.

stayed in the avernish lodge for the weekend. road up to lodge is single track but well worth the effort to get there. the views are stunning both with snow and without. set in peaceful location away from the hubbub ideal to get your creative juices going for that novel or maybe inspire the painter in you.. the lodge is very comfortable and decorated to a high standard and caters for all your needs. stay too short so will have to visit again..

“Simply Beautiful - A Luxurious Gem!”

Firstly, I would like to say I am not one for reviews and very seldom spend the time leaving reviews for places I/we have stayed.

This time was different, I simply had to let everyone else know how amazing this place is.

From the minute you walk into the lodge, you are hit in the face with the sheer beauty of the views you get from the glass fronted building. they are breathtaking,

From that moment, you know you are in for something special. The Lodge is built and designed to the highest of standard and you get the real sense of quality when you walk around. Absolutely no expense was spared and this was clear from the crystal glass to the Le Creuset pots/pans and kitchenware.

The lodge is huge and the open plan sitting room/dining room/kirchen is a great feature.

The Lodge is warm and cosy with the underfloor heating and is absolutely immaculate. The stove is a wonderful ectra and all logs/kindling and paper etc is supplied.

The bathrooms are stunning. well designed and large and both showers are incredible.. The bath is simply the best.

The bedrooms are also big with built in wardrobes and luxury pillows/duvets and bed sets. Each room has a large glass door/window that leads out to a private sitting area. The main room has a huge en suite and has a tv mounted on the wall with sky tv.

James and the team have covered every angle and more with this build, from free wifi and house phone to a welcome pack that included cereal, milk, wine and lots of other useful snacks/foods to get you started.

To our surprise, there is a utilty room that includes washing machine and spereate dryer and there is a dishwasher in the kitche. we were supplied with all washing up materials as well as powder for the washing machine and tablets for the dishwasher.

Having travelled all over the world and staying in some beautiful hotels, I emailed the owner last night saying that we had just spent 3 nights in the most beautiful home we have ever seena and will certainly be going back... very soon.

I have probably missed lots while in a daze thinking back to our weekend away. If you have any questions, send me a message.

“A Little Piece Of Heaven”
Reviewed 24 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

I have just returned home from staying at Avernish Lodge with my husband. This was our first trip to the area and we were blown away by the scenery around us. Avernish Lodge was probablly the best holiday accommodation that we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in quite a few really nice ones). This is a perfect place to stay if you like peace and tranquility but you also like to be close to civilisation and local amenities. You enter down a long gravelled road to get to Avernish Lodge and it looks quite austere and impressive when you arrive and then you open the door and you realsie you have struck lucky. The Lodge is beautifully decorated with quality furniture and furnishings throughout but the best thing about the Lodge is the views that befalls your eyes. It is breathtaking with the lake and hills on your doorstep. The large windows and doors allow you to take in all the scenery and even the bedrooms make best use of the views. We were quite happy just to spend time looking out the window and watching the world pass us by. The beds were large and luxurious as were the towels in the bathrooms, in fact everything in Avernish is tasteful and quality hotel accommodation standard. If you stay here you will not be dissapointed. The only downside about this property is that we had to leave it. We will definately be returning to Avernish Lodge to again sample this little peice of Heaven.
