Stayed with a group doing three peaks. We booked twin rooms and complaints from the group that only one thin pillow, they could hear through the walls and “shower like wrestling a python”.

We ate in the bar so avoid the fish cakes and the ham salad but the steak pie was ok. A local told me he felt it was “too risky” to eat there and he was ex-military. Staff a bit friendly.

There was some live music in reception (which is decorated like an old people’s home) and although we were there when there was a wake on and the empty hearse was parked at the door, we had a good evening.

If you stay book the more expensive rooms as refurbished and quite nice, although there is a very strange smell.

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay with us.

Whilst the general feedback we receive from our guests about food is positive, I have certainly passed your comments on to our Head Chef for his information.

With regards to there having only been one pillow in the twin room, I have spoken with our Head Housekeeper and whilst this has been an oversight, she will ensure that more routine inspections are conducted going forward. Please pass on my personal apologies to the members of your group who reported this to you.

We do cater for all event types at the hotel, and I was happy to hear that despite their having been a private function on during your stay you had an enjoyable evening.

Thank you once again for taking the time to review your stay.

With kind regards

Have stayed here before and when it was the Milton and it was good but it’s gone downhill and is below its price band and rating.
Double bed only just fitted in room, number 38,TV did not work, no signal, can’t retune as need a code, no free WiFi , wasn’t given Guest pass at check in, toilet was noisy trickled water all night. Can’t buy even non alcohol snacks at bar for cash after 11pm , has to go on room so clearly not wanting business customers some of whom want extras claimed on expenses or maybe they have problem staff. Bar meal was quick and reasonable quality though there seems a write down order then put on computer which creates quite a delay getting change. Room was clean, no toiletries or bottled water. Disappointed! Moorings or Imperial Hotel better.

Perfectly located for easy access to Ben Nevis and Glen Nevis - can walk 15 minutes to walk start point. Great pool and leisure centre. Staff at hotel are friendly and helpful. Not the nicest in way of furnishings and needs a good update as looking tired in places, but cleanliness of hotel excellent and facilities good.

Room tip: Ground floor room was much bigger than first floor room.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us.

Your kind words regarding our staff are very much appreciated, and have since been passed on to all departments. It was a pleasure to read how you find our hotel to be clean, and with good facilities. We are continually working to ensure that our guests receive the best level of service when staying with us, and have the enjoyable and comfortable stay they deserve at all times. We will certainly use your comments during our regular reviews, and as part of our ongoing refurbishment plan we have to date replaced all carpets in our public areas, as well as completed the painting of corridors and the exterior of the building.

Please be assured that we are committed to invest in the hotel, and we do hope that you will be able to return in the near future.

With kind regards

I stayed here for 2 nights with the groupon deal. It included a 3 course dinner on day of arrival and breakfast both mornings.
I stayed mid March 18 with my boyfriend and it was a very enjoyable stay. Upon check in the girl on service desk was lovley. She was new and during our check in her friends arrived. She did get abit worried and at times me and my partner were unsure wether she was speaking to us or shouting across to them signaling them where to sit. However check in was dealt with quickly and we were advised to book our 3 course meal with the restuarant as soon as possible.
Room was abit dated and small but was warm and clean and complimentary tea coffee hot chocolate etc and 2 packets of biscuits. Rooms were cleaned everyday and you were even given extra biscuits :) :)
Restuarant was lovley again dated but clean. Staff were lovley and were keen to serve. 3 course meal was delicious - no complaints!
Hotel is in a great location for exploring. 5min drive from Ben Nevis and also the Ben Nevis Inn which we ate at on our 2nd night. Well worth a visit for very yummy food in a refurbished barn! We were also an hours drive from Isle of Skye and had a great day out including Eilean Donan Castle, Fairy Pools then ferry back from Armadale to Mallaig and visited the Glenfinnan Viaduct and Monument and then back to hotel (one big circle around the highlands and the most amazing scenic views along the way!).
Check out was at 11am which was fine. We had out buffet breakfast (both mornings) which had a decent selection. A choice of 8 cereals and also porridge with syrup. Usual selection of hot food to make up your scottish breakfast with added extra of haggis and also potatoe scone :) :) also available was toast, tea/coffee, fruit selection and cheese and ham. Could not fault the breakfast at all and again staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
Finished off our sunday morning with a dip in the pool (included with your stay). The pool has a jacuzzi and also a steam and sauna room and a gym overlooking the pool. Shame i couldnt use most of the facilities as pregnant but they are there! Managed all this in before checkout - ideal!
Hotel also has a bar. We used very little of it but it is also there, very welcoming and can get abit busy and warm!!
Free Wifi also!!!
As said very enjoyable stay and would def return again with a groupon deal if i every fancy attempting Ben Nevis LOL ... think hotel could do with abit of an update before i would consider paying the full price but it was a nice stay. :)

I am sorry to say , but this hotel needs a face lift . It is indeed tired. I last stayed here some 15 years ago and I don't think anything has been done to the rooms in that time. The beds are a little soft with sheets and blankets rather than continental quilts. The bathroom is small, as is the bath. The water in the shower is both hot a powerful. A good supply of tea coffee and biscuits are in the rooms. The bar food was excellent. There was a huge choice of breakfast which was buffet style. They should spend a bit on tarting the place up.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us.

We have had many rooms and bathrooms refurbished to a very high standard and these Superior Rooms are available to book now. It is unclear from your review which room you were staying in, but perhaps a Superior room was unavailable at your time of booking with only the Classic rooms left which are older in style yes, but still clean and with everything a guest may need, and we feel our reduced price for these rooms reflects good value for money.

I do hope that you will be able to visit us again in the near future and hopefully make use of one of our new rooms. Please be assured that your kind words regarding the food has since been passed to our Head Chef.

Thank you once again for your review.
