Other reviews have praised this Hotel, the food, entertainment and the quality. we wholeheartedly agree. Unfortunately we stayed at the Hotel during a cold snap with snow.

We were very surprised to find that the heating was only active for very limited and short periods. We asked at reception and were told the heating is remotely operated by head office and goes off and on at specific times of the day.

On a couple of occasions when our trip our was early and breakfast was first serving we showered and dressed with no heating at all. We were told it would come on later.

This was awful and in fairness the staff checked it out and gave us a portable heater. We learned later in the week that they had run out of these heaters due to the number of complaints.

It seems a great shame that having a excellent organisation and success rating the whole situation is spoilt because of these unworkable controls.

Recommendation would be to ask about the heating when checking in as for an elderly person with some arthritis it would be very uncomfortable as it was cold at night.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front have excellent views of the lock and town.

Just returned from a 5 day stay at the Highland Hotel Fort William with Lochs and Glens. Excellent from the time we boarded the coach to go.
Plenty of stops on the way up, Gretna Green was lovely to see.
Beautiful hotel overlooking the Loch, our room was lovely and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable, best nights sleep I had in ages!
The staff are second to none, lovely welcome when we arrived, bags taken from the coach and delivered to our room.
All meals are excellent, filling and cooked to perfection. Couldn't fault anything.
Our coach driver,Iain was excellent too, what a lovely guy he was, excellent talks thoughtout our journey showing us the beautiful sites Scotland had to offer and believe me they were breathtaking.
It was our first ever coach trip and our first trip to beautiful Scotland and it will not be our last. Highland Hotel is already booked for next year.
A massive thank you to the Manager David and all his fantastic staff for looking after us both making our trip so memorable. Scotland we had a blast.

I am giving this Hotel a 5 star rating for SERVICE- VALUE FOR MONEY- CLEANLINESS-MENU and ENTERTAINMENT and a 5 star rating for LOCHS AND GLENS COACH TRAVEL.
