Went to The Ivy Bar for a quiet one and some dinner. Interior is comfortable and would certainly be a good place to spend some time in the evenings. Had a pizza between us and it was enjoyable along with the cocktail for my wife. The beer was cold and typical scottish lager. The Ivy is easy to find and was reasonably priced.

My Californian burger came on a Wonderbread-type bun and the sandwich itself lacked flavour. The chips were good. The coleslaw wasn’t anything special.

The wait at the Ivy was far too long. We waited too long to get served drinks, but the age it took for our food to arrive was ridiculous. Definately wont go back there.

We arrived at 4.30pm and we're told food wasn't available until 5pm. No problem at all! I had the most amazing pornstar martini cocktail and hubby had a wine while we waited. The service was impeccable and the food even better!!! I highly recommend the scallops for starters (I also had a taste of hubby's chicken skewers which were also amazing!) The venison was cooked to perfection (hubby had the steak which he thoroughly enjoyed) however the cheesecake was to die for!!! When it came out I actually thought they'd brought the wrong dessert as it's not presented like a typical cheesecake but omg it tasted incredible, really light but beautiful (was gutted I was too full to finish it!) All in all we had an amazing experience with the best service and great food and drinks! Can't find fault at all! Would highly recommend and can't wait to come back

I found it comfortable with a bit of class. Food was good and drinks prepared well and good selection. I think it could come off as snobby to some folks, and we definitely had a long wait for our food. Being on vacation it didn’t bother us, but this is definitely a slow food experience. I enjoyed it for what it was and liked the experience overall. I also thought the specials were creative.
