“Good Location”
Reviewed 1 May 2011

Stayed for three nights in a dorm room. The setup of the room made it seemed a bit cramped and I wasn't too fond of it. Bathrooms were as clean as they could be with tons of others using them, but the halls always smelled a bit funky on the floor where we stayed like the fans weren't working properly.
Common area had big, comfy couches with a flat screen TV and wifi. The kitchen was a bit small for the size of the hostel, but we made do.
Good location. Literally right next to the bus station and a five minute walk from the rail station. A grocery store across the street. And don't forget to have some fish and chips at the store next door. They are to die for!!
Overall friendly staff and a good place to meet others.

Ah yeah! Decent!
It was really awesome to get some advice from other worldly travellers, not to mention if you're on a budget it was great to know what to see and how to get about by others at the hostel who could help.
Really laid back place that's close to all amenities. I had a great 5 days there!

The rooms were clean and tidy, but the bathrooms and especially the kitchen were in a need more regular cleaning/tidying up.

Stayed here fors 3 nights, as I was travelling throughout the region. Location is good, very close to train and bus stations but the hostel is directly next to a multi-story carpark which attracted teenagers at night, along with "suped" up cars revving their engines late into the night. Needless to say, I was very nervous walking back from the train station late in the evenings.
Rooms are fine for such a cheap price, although you can feel almost every spring in the beds, the beds squeak due to the fact their metal and the laminate floors throughout the hostel enable you to hear every footstep!
The extraction fans for the toilets and showers are rather loud and can be heard from the rooms...not the most appealing noise to be awoken to at 3am! Bathrooms could have a far higher standard of cleanliness and maintenance, the sinks and taps were loose in some of them.

Regardless of the above, the atmosphere seemed lively, staff were more than helpful, the free WIFI and modern lounge made up for it!

This hostel was pretty clean, as hostels go. The beds and bathrooms were all average; not super comfortable but not awful. There is a great common area with puzzles and a TV which was never too crowded, and a kitchen with utensils and free tea.

There was only one staff member working during our stay, which meant it was a little hard to check out, but he was very friendly and recommended a great Indian restaurant. Noise isn't a problem here at all; we went during summer and only saw about five other guests. It was very close to the bus station in Inverness, and to shops and restaurants.

My sister and I enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

  • Liked — Its friendliness, kept cleaner than many hostels I've stayed at
  • Disliked — It was a little confusing to find (different name on sign then on our booking)
