As others have said if you want 5 star amenities this is not your hotel.

However if you want 5 star staff you have come to the right place. My wife is a care team coordinator and social care staff are at full stretch during the epidemic. We booked two nights in this hotel and were delighted by the careful regard to covid restrictions, and the efficient, friendly and caring staff. The central location is ideal with views over the river.

We have never stayed in a perfect hotel, and one night my wife's main course was not very nice. She mentioned this to staff. Next day we received a note of apology and gift from the manager and this meant a lot to us. In a time when being kind is ever more important we were grateful for the kindness shown at this hotel by caring and well trained staff. We will be going back and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Inverness.

As per some reviews, the Columba is not a new, fancy modern hotel BUT even at time of CoVid we stayed last night and will definitely come back! Who cares about odd imperfections in an old building, the hotel was clean, warm, and staff so friendly. Beautiful view, definitely ask for river view, castle, bridge/lights. Even on a miserable rainy night. Book direct and had drinks and meal vouchers, thoroughly enjoyed dinner and a plentiful breakfast to order, served with a smile within restrictions- felt safe. Central, welcoming, lovely staff who deserve praise for the effort in not easy times.
