We couldn't have had a better base for our five days in the Highlands. Clean, comfortable en suite room was quiet and as advertised. My room's TV set left a bit to be desired (mounted at an odd angle and volume was practically non-existent), but who goes to the Highlands for TV, anyway, eh? Would have liked a common room or parlor to lounge and mingle with other guests, but these small drawbacks were more than offset by the effervescent, accommodating Kenny and his wife, Dorothy. Their enormous, delicious breakfasts were simply wonderful, served by Kenny in full Scottish Highland dress -- kilt, spurran and the whole kit. Not only did they provide a warm welcome, but bent over backward to accommodate our wish to hear authentic local music. They also gave excellent advice about driving routes to enable us to see the best scenery. We loved the Silverstrands and heartily recommend it for vacationers who want to immerse themselves in the beautiful Scottish Highlands.

Room tip: Rooms are smallish by American standards, but acceptable in comparison to other European B&Bs.

This immaculate guest house in Inverness is set up so that all of the rooms are quiet and peaceful. There is excellent breakfast, with a full Scottish breakfast every morning. One of our two rooms had a quite small bathroom, and the proprietor contacted us well in advance just to make sure that was okay. His helpfulness and friendliness are just fantastic. And it's an easy walk into town, too.

Met by Kenny at the door who was very welcoming.
Beautiful clean room with lovely bedding and towels. Plenty of tea milk etc as well as shampoo etc.
Breakfast was fantastic with lots on offer from Kenny dressed in full Scots attire.
The only downside was walking to the bathroom which is outside the room and down the corridor which after having a shower I had to get dressed again or when my husband left the room to go to the toilet he had to be careful no one was walking in the front door as they would have seen me in bed so that was my only negative. Saying this I would stay here again as this is the only room with a separate bathroom so would book in advance for a ensuite.
The bathroom was also very clean.
Thank you kenny.

My parents and I spent two nights at the Silverstrands. The location was perfect for day trips from Inverness! Kenny and his wife were friendly, sweet and very helpful! The breakfast options were varied and always lots to choose from in the dining room! It is street parking, but Kenny was able to help with a permit.

Very handy for town, very helpful owner. Breakfast was great (go for the full Scottish). Room exactly as described - yes, it was small, but that was never a secret and it was exceptionally comfortable. Would definitely recommend
