If you are going with kids this is a place to go if you are in Scotland. It is just 2.5 to 3 hours from Edinburgh if you are driving. You can visit their website to see all the activities they have. I suggest booking in advance in summer as some of them get full fast. They have the tree top adventure which is an obstacle course high above the ground on the trees. We took that and it was in incredible experience to try something you dont see normally. They has have river tubing which was also a a lot of fun. The folks there are very helpful. You can also rent bikes and bike around the forest. They guide you through everything and the equipment for all activities is available there as part of the price of the activities. They also have fishing, quad biking, pony riding and other activities. There is also a beautiful lake there which is maybe a 10 to 15 minute drive from the visitor center. You have to pay to park there. You can check with the visitor center regarding the parking fees. There is also a small store where you can get things to drink and also a restaurant.

Thanks to Karen for helping to set up this Ranger Rover Safari trip. It was my bucket list thing to do and I (we) were not disappointed. Ray our ranger guide was the best. His knowledge of the area and history was outstanding. He gave us views of the countryside and wildlife that I was not expecting. The stops and explanations of the sites were enjoyed by all. Ray's attention to detail and him knowing what we wanted to see made this trip. The tea and small gifts were an added bonus. The trip into and around Loch an Eillein were breath taken. And the stop at the church ruins and graveyard can not be described as to how much I wanted to see. Stopping and seeing and feeding the Red Deer was another added bonus. I will remember him and the hours spent talking for the rest of my life.

Had great fun on the Segway adventure, the whole experience lasts an hour with the first part getting used to the Segway and manoeuvring around obstacles, once your confident the fun really starts as you explore the rough paths around the field, a few hairy moments but we all managed to stay upright.

Definitely worth a try! It was the highlight for our family holiday and even I, a female, enjoyed it very much!

We highly recommend our instructor Simon Munro, who was very kind, helpful and informative; clearly very experienced! :) I must also note that he could understand our Singaporean accent The reception people were also wonderful, very helpful and friendly!

I would also advise booking in advance as slots can be limited.

We stopped at the Estate cafe next to the visitors centre on our way to tackle a Munro in the Cairngorms. Had a fab wee breakfast, super friendly staff and great directions given for our onward journey.

We've been before and can highly recommended the area for every sort of outdoor pursuit you can imagine...plus the cafe!
