Booked this online via the hotel direct. Two night city break. Quite hard to find first off as it is literally a door between two shops. The rest of the building seems to be admin offices for British Rail. Lift upto the 6th floor wondering what on earth I'd booked. The hotel is the whole of the 6th floor, one corridor with rooms either side. What at first seemed might be a bit dodgy turned out to be delightful. Friendly staff, modern, super clean rooms and lots of attention to detail. Our room had still and sparkling water to choose from and, shock horror, a plug next to the bed to charge your phone! Just off reception there was a selection of home made cakes and ice cream all free of charge. I think the real bonus was the room was super dark and quiet. Amazing for a city centre hotel and this hotel is very central indeed. Lovely breakfast and I deal with the local multi story car park. Glasgow? I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Well done The Grasshopper Hotel

Grasshoppers is a well located, comfortable and exceptionally clean property. Uniquely situated in the top floor of a building in the Central Station complex, it was not noisy. Staff were friendly, especially at breakfast and homemade treats abound, during our stay, complimentary cakes and cookies, homemade mince pies and mulled wine. The rooms are on the small side and the furnishings, what I would call, Scandinavian or minimalist. The most important aspect, the bed was comfortable and the linens are high-quality as advertised. The bathroom was also smallish but the shower hot and powerful. A quality ceiling fan kept us cool enough. Breakfast was traditional and kept fresh by being made in small batches - a lighter yogurt option was also available. Location is central to everything but the unassuming entrance and the characters that hang around most city Central stations might make you a little nervous at your booking choice- frankly, and no fault of the hotel, a picture of the entrance street probably would have eliminated the hotel from consideration. Parking is independent and available close enough. Be sure to use their recommended car park or you will pay more than 25 GBP a day. Having excessive or large luggage may be awkward. So, what’s the bottom line? Read their website, it’s accurate. A perfectly nice stay as long as you understand your choice. .

Room tip: Parking is independent. Follow the advice on their website or you will pay 25 GBP per day. Excessive or large luggage may be awkward for you

I could not recommend this hotel enough. The room is perfect. The breakfast was just what we were after. There is a lovely lounge area where there was complimentary mulled wine and mince pies.

I could not fault anything. The staff were also so friendly and helpful

Excellent location convenient to major attractions and especially transportation. Despite the central location the rooms were quiet. Staff and owners made you feel at home. Lots of nice touches, snacks etc. Rooms comfortable and modestly sized. Ample and tasty breakfast. Overall a superb choice and value.
