We spent a week here, which was too long. The hotel is well located, easy to get to all the sights and train stations. The design is very cool, the rooms were well maintained, and the staff were friendly (if not always totally on top of things). But the rooms, while very cool to look at, are tiny, more like cruise ship rooms than typical hotel rooms. We would have happily traded some of the coolness and elaborate lighting and other fancy features, for a little closet space and more privacy in the bathroom. Instead, with 2 modest suitcases and no place for them, everything was constantly in the way. The average room rating is a compromise; they're really anything but average, but that weights the tiny size against the cool design.

We did also have one problem; they decided to clean the hall carpets on our floor during our stay, and for some reason decided the best way to notify us of this was to lock us out of our room so we would have to go to the lobby to talk with staff about it. A stupid approach (compared to leaving a warning note in the room), which they did 3 days in a row because the staff we talked to apparently couldn't keep track of who they had talked to yet. When we complained about it, they did give us a free breakfast.

My boyfriend and i stayed here for 2 nights after my graduation in June because i've always been intrigued about the hotel, but i'll definietly be back. The room was pretty small however there was enough room to sleep, get ready for a night out, shower and do everything you need to when staying in a hotel. There was free wifi and also a whole range of tv channels to watch. The shower was amazing (best i've been in) and you could set mood lighting. Most things were controlled by a remote. It was out of this world. My only problem was after about 1 in the morning the TV wouldn't work which was a disapointment however didnt put me off at all. Not the cheapest of hotels but definitely worth it.

Room Tip: Don't stay here if you're claustrophobic.

Really nice hotel, loved the decor. Excellent location in the centre of town, close to shopping and pubs/clubs.
No parking although the hotel does a deal with nearby parking areas for a reduced rate.
Really easy check in.

The rooms are very small but the bed is very large and takes up most of the space.

For some reason there is no separate bathroom light which is extremely inconvenient when needing to use the bathroom in the night. Means the entire room lights up (although can be dim) but still my partner and I woke each other up due to lights.

Our bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly even though we didn't get to the hotel until after 6pm when check-in was 2pm. There was still "evidence" of the previous guest.

Also the storage underneath the bed was lying open and the plastic bag (for bedding i think) that was in it was lying on the floor.

No massive problems but still things I would expect to have been taken care of.

CitizenM is my hotel of choice in Glasgow now for business trips. The rooms aren't fancy but they are spotlessly clean and functional and have everything you need (so long as you're not bothered about having a kettle - which I'm not). Great location too. For the quietest night get one of the rooms at the back of the hotel ('courtyard' view). The view isn't pretty but it's interesting (you can see the Theatre Royal and the offices of some fine Glasgow newspapers). The best thing about the rooms is that the beds are MASSIVE and incredibly comfortable. When you close down your blinds with your fancy remote control, turn of the fun 'disco' lights and snuggle down, you are guaranteed a great night's sleep. The staff are cheery and helpful and so long as you don't mind a bit of a 'do it yourself' element - (no room service, no porterage, not many hangers to hang up clothes, low profile staff etc) then you'll enjoy the privacy here. A room here can be as cheap as £67 and for that it's a REAL BARGAIN.

Room Tip: Get a room at the back of the hotel - a courtyard view - if you want a quiet night.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a weekend in October, the service was excellent (very friendly) but our room was not very clean. The location was great (right in the centre) and the rooms were ok. The only thing that I would recommend is tea and coffee making facility's and a iron in the rooms, although I can see why they don't have this.
