Owner description: The Museum of the University of St Andrews (MUSA) is a free museum displaying some of the amazing treasures from the University's collection of over 112,000 artefacts. The Museum is located on the Scores in St Andrews and is home to St Salvator's Mace, which is still used in Graduation and Welcome ceremonies to this day. The museum has four galleries, a 'Learning Loft' and a viewing terrace with stunning panoramic views over St Andrews Bay. MUSA is family friendly and its galleries feature a number of fun hands-on interactives as well as an art cart which is full of creative activities for children from dressing up to drawing. Free admission.

This museum is full of interest, in a beautiful location, with free admission and is inclusive of very young children. My grandchildren, both under 5, thoroughly enjoyed their visit.

Visited the museum on numerous occasions, sometimes just to mull around if the weather is not so great, but mainly to let my daughter participate in some of the many free workshops they organise. She particularly enjoyed the science day, which filled over 4 hours with lots of fizz, bangs and goo. What young child wouldn't enjoy that! Then they provided us all with lots of lovely sandwiches and cakes. The Mary Queen of Scots tour was thoroughly enjoyable too, wandering around St A's in the height of tourist season, following a rather resplendent Mary .
We also recently did the geologist walk to the rock and spindle which was very informative, perhaps not geared toward little 'uns, but our daughter really enjoyed it too. The museum itself is in a wonderful location near to St Andrews castle and has many interesting artifacts to browse. All in all a place we are very lucky to have on our doorstep with an extremely helpful and friendly team.
