The staff were exceedingly pleasant and helpful. the food was excellent with Haggis, Neeps and Tatties with whisky sauce particularly tasty. Small portions are available and there was a wide variety of choices There was an extensive sweet menu and the ice cream was delicious. we had no complaints whatever and the price was reasonable

Table wasnt ready until 15 minutes after time booked for. Had to go and sit at a table in the lounge - only one available was covered in dirty cups and half eaten biscuits. Starters were tiny, very over-priced.
Everything lacked seasoning. My wife's duck came out stone cold. Sent it back, they sent the same piece back out just moved about (still had a bite out of it -still stone cold). Two tables pushed together, both on such a slope that Kazza's gravy was dripping over edge of the plate. The Bigman's salad was as limp as a wet piece of kleenex. Big chips and onion rings weren't very hot or crispy and fairly greasy. Desserts over-priced for size of them. Would prefer to have the same person attending the table. We had 6 different members of staff over the meal. Kazza felt as queezy as a landlover on whitewater raft when she got home - cold sweats and stomach cramps. Thought she was going to be sick all night
Company was good though!

We have been going to the Wheelhouse for our Sunday breakfast now for some time so much so that we are now on first name terms with the lovely member or staff Lyn. Lyn always greets you with a smile, asks how you are doing and takes a genuine interest. Lyn remembers everything, how we like our eggs cooked, remembers what my allergies are and what the coffee order will be. Now to the not so good experience. We went on Father's Day and whilst we had not booked - we don't normally book, we were greeted by a male member of staff think one of the supervisors. No pleasantries! Just do you have a booking? Then when we said no it was like how dare we turn up without a booking! We were shown to a table. Yes it felt like it was squeezed in but we were grateful for the table. Same member of staff came to take our order and I asked if I could just have a few items to be told it is a set menu! So then had to order the Scottish and then take of everything that I didn't want. Breakfast then came with requested items missing! We ate, paid and left. If this had been our first experience at the Wheelhouse we would certainly not be going back!

Went for lunch here with my husband and our 2 dogs and from arrival we were welcomed by your wonderful staff... the brunette waitress (sorry didnt catch her name) is exceptional and took so much interest in our dogs, brought them biscuits & water too. The food was lovely & will definitely be back!

This restaurant was recommended so we booked a table. The waitress came and took our drinks order and left us with the menu. When she returned with drinks, she took our food order (2 x fish and chips and 2 x mussels) and left for the kitchen. Unfortunately she returned almost immediately to report that there no mussels and in fact no shell fish at all. As the menu had a lot of shell fish on it this was poor. As for two of us it was a big disappointment. We both made second best choices. If planning visiting, book a table and check availability of shellfish. Sorry Wheelhouse you were a big disappointment today
