We enjoyed our stay at this friendly hotel. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast is freshly cooked with and served to the table apart from juices and cereals which are served buffet style. There is a continental breakfast option from the buffet. We had one evening meal which we enjoyed. On offer was the usual fare that I would expect in a 3 star hotel. Steak pie, fish and chips, pasta, curry and vegetarian options. £12 for three courses is good value, in my opinion. The bar and lounge area is nice and being adjacent to the restaurant allows for a relaxing drink, either before or after dinner. We had a mostly positive experience but there was one thing that irritated me that I will share as a warning to others; We had a room on the first floor above the entrance and the noise from the people enjoying a late night cigarette and blether in the smoking area below kept me awake. Avoid rooms above the smokers' area. You have been warned!

the unassuming building belies the comfortable interior of this hotel, the rooms are clean and spacious and the restaurant is welcoming in its appearance and personnel, it offers a albeit limited menu at 3courses for £12 or 2 for £10, amazing value and good quality.the carpark is large and private, always a bonus in a city environment
we found all the staff very friendly and enthusiastic and reflected this in our tipping.
we recommend the Park Hotel wholeheartedly.

The type of food served is reflected in the price of the menu. Visited with family for lunch. Soup had no seasoning and pate did not taste of chicken liver. Three of us had steak pie which received various comments i.e. ' awful, tasteless, no seasoning'. Appearance was of a ladle of stew in a steak pie dish with a pre cooked pastry on top. Two family members had sticky toffee pudding which they described as ' nice but dry'. No cream or icecream as that was extra. On a positive note the oatcakes were not soft (served with pate).
Could not recommend and will not be returning.

Visited on Sat. Limited wine list, at a function, further limited from 9 to 6. White and fizz served at room temp (offered ice bucket). Wine predictably poor at £14-£19 hotel price. No card machine in function room; "cash only". Vast majority of young staff pleasant and hard working. Food was perfectly adequate for a function with £25 a head ticket price. Whole place feels a bit tired. Fine for a function or funeral cuppa.
