Description: ¡Hola amigos! Being the UK's biggest and most loved Tex-Mex restaurant, we know a thing or two about good food and drink. Our range of Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes have been making mouths water for over 25 years - from mild to wild, we've got every flavour! If you're in the mood for sizzling fajitas, bursting burritos, or tender fall-off-the-bone ribs, you've come to the right place. For those who fancy a lighter bite we have a brunch menu and a selection of desserts for your sweet tooth. We offer a gluten free menu too so anyone can enjoy dining out with friends. Our drinks will quench the greatest of thirsts - simply pop in try one of our famous margaritas. After all it's 5pm somewhere, right? See you soon, or as they say in Mexico, ¡hasta luego!

Hadn't visited Chiquito's for a couple of months. In that time, they'd changed their menu: half the old dishes have now been removed...and not replaced by anything.

The old menu, which was presented to you as a thick card booklet that ran to several pages, is now one side with scant options. We ordered the nachos, which appeared after a good 20 minutes had passed - the tortilla chips were soggy (because of the runny salsa that they'd dumped on top of them), there was hardly any cheese on them and what cheese they had deigned to add hadn't properly melted. Utterly horrible.

Chose my usual beef tacos as the main. What on earth had happened there? Previously a little holder with three tacos in it would arrive - all kept separate with the salsa on the side in a bowl. Now they chuck the three of them on a plate and pour the salsa over the top. Wet salsa. Crisp tacos. No - now a large lump of it is just wet and soggy.

My wife's veggie fajita was equally lacking. Where before the sour cream, salsa and guacamole were in separate tubs, they were now chucked on a small plate and ended up blending together. Less cheese too.

As for the desserts...the churros quantities have been halved, there are now 4 churros for a quid more than they used to serve you 8 for. And the thick chocolate sauce they used to serve is now a tiny bowl of runny dark chocolate liquid. Yuck.

And what was with the cheesy chart music, what happened to the salsa soundtracks?

All in all, less choice, less finesse and more cost and completely understand why this chain is struggling. Grim stuff. We won't be back.

Been to Chiquito many times but last couple of visits were a bit dissapointing. Decided to give it another try and was delighted. Staff were very friendly and helpful with excellent service. Food was back to its best, delicous, freshly cooked and still sizzling on the plate.

I keep coming back here as the food used to be pretty good and I’ve had a lot of happy family meals here but the past few visits, we’ve just been left disappointed with the food.

Our last visit was yesterday and we waited a couple of minutes to be seated. We were surprised at the new menu being so small
(Or seeming to appear smaller). Anyway- we waited ages to get our order taken and the food took a while to come out too. There was only two servers on the floor, a barmaid who was seating guests too and the restaurant manager was in the kitchen cooking with a chef.

I appreciate they could’ve been short staffed yesterday and it happens in my place of work too but the food that came out just looked liked it’d been thrown on the plate and whilst it looked visually unappetising, it tasted bland and my tacos were soggy and Luke warm.

Since we waited so long to have our plates cleared we decided against dessert and after having the bill sitting for nearly 10 minutes, we took it to the bar to pay it as we didn’t want to wait any longer even though from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the restaurant only had a few tables in but to the credit of the staff, they were running about doing the best they could.
