I found the Averon Guest House through trip advisory and was very happy with the choice. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Parking was great, right out our door. Room was nice and clean. Bathroom a little awkward but to be expected in old houses. Nice and close to main area of the city. Would stay here again if in Edinburgh.

Just spent two weeks at the Averon Guest House while working in Edinburgh. The staff are very helpful and the owner is very hands on and always around to help with your every needs. The breakfast is great and there is an excellent choice. There is secure on site parking, which is rare in Edinburgh. They give you a good feeling of Scotland, with breakfast served by staff wearing kilts. Also Alan, the owner, performs often with his Scottish music nights, which are very entertaining. The rooms are kept very well and cleaned daily. The house is very warm and homely. Would recommend strongly.
Averon guest house was great value, especially for Edinburgh. We were able to check in and park the car securely a lot earlier than most guest houses / hotels and a short walk took us into the heart of Edinburgh. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and a very hearty breakfast was served up to us by a very cheerful lady the following morning after our rest. even though we were checking out we were told we could have left the car there if we wanted to return into the city by foot. we will return if we are in Edinburgh again.
For our spring break we chose our favorite European destination, beautiful Edinburgh. We love its history and friendliness of locals. And as always we chose Averon Guest House for our short trip.
And not only because it is the only guest house in Edinburgh centre that has a secure parking. Their team is great, they offer outstanding service.
The house is very pleasant place to stay, clean, cozy, warm, tastefully decorated. For us it is home from home.
Breakfasts are enourmous, huge variety, delicious.
This time we were invited to an evening concert of Scottish Songs by the owner Alan. He showed slides, talked about Scottish history, played guitar, we loved his singing!
We will come back again, and we recommend Averon as the best place to stay.
Centrally located guest house, just 10 mis walk from the centre. Very well priced with good breakfast. Very friendly owner and personnel. They also organise Scottish traditional music nights. I would definitely go back again and recommend it!
My son and I stayed at Averon recently. We were each given a double room at very reasonable rates. My room was very clean and warm and the bed was very comfortable. The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly - nothing seemed to be a problem.. The breakfast was very good. There is free off- street parking and we were told on departure that we could leave the car there all day if we wanted. I would certainly go back there again and would recommend this B & B to anyone. It's also fairly handy for local amenities with buses passing the door.
