Eating here is like being with long term friends. The staff, very efficient and friendly, know you well. Each time the welcome us genuine and the meals divine. Such care is taken to source the ingredients and make the dishes so interesting. Today's express menu a steal at £9.95 starting with fresh warm bread then a choice of venison carpaccio with cranberry jam, asparagus tart, and herring rollmops. The venison was delicious and the rollmops sheer delight. Followed by Colley fish, a big helping with lobster bisque. I I had braised shoulder of lamb, jus, green beans and dauphinois potatoes. Barely room for the brownie and coffee. The wine a Merlot Grenache at such a fair price. The restaurant was full with regular customers, all enjoying themselves.
