Friendly staff excellent room ,good quality linen and mattress and pillow protectors .Although out of town good bus service to transport you to the city centre .I had no complaint to make about my stay . Perfect if you want a good sleep ,much quieter than the city centre hotels .

Very nice room. There was a king bed and also a table and chairs. No safe or refrigerator. Breakfast buffet not that good. No bread selection, hash browns or cold cuts. The hotel is about 20 minutes outside city center.

I am glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, we have 2 standard breads as well as bread rolls, croissants and pastries available each day. Cold meats are available on request , as it says on the breakfast menu.

Stopped for two nights but actually found it cheaper to book two single nights because of some odd special offers. Hotel is of a good standard and reception staff are excellent. Check in easy and quick and the small gift we were given did make us feel special.
Had a meal in the brasserie and it was ok. Service was good.
Staff gave us some great info about buses to the city centre so we could leave the car. Great as parking in Edinburgh is a nightmare.
Breakfast selections varied and quite good only issue the usual hotel toaster failures. White or burnt.
Only issue we had was that the room we had was very spacious but incredibly hot. With all the heating off and windows fully open we could not get the room below 25 degrees. The radiators and towel rail were cold so we don't know where the secret heating was coming from but it meant sleeping with the windows open. Fortunately we were on the back of the hotel and in the last room on the top floor so noise was not too much of an issue.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review of your stay, I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately we don’t have any secret heating systems it’s just that in line with our green philosophy our rooms are very well insulated meaning that any heat remains inside . As you discovered opening the windows quickly regulates the temperature.

When booking into this hotel we found that the room we booked was a small single, not good when you are travelling as a couple. The reception staff were really helpful and found us another room even though the hotel was fully booked up. We were certainly very grateful for their assistance. The room was very spacious and even though our view was basically a brick wall we were more than happy. Nice and quiet, the room was a bit hot but we think that was due to the mild muggy weather. Very large beds. We have stayed in similar hotels to this and have been disappointed in the the breakfast on offer, not here. There was plenty of choice and the staff were very attentive and made sure you had everything you needed. We also had our evening meal here and we were delighted with all the food served. We ate in the Bistro but could have eaten in the Lauder Restaurant. We felt there was more choice on the Bistro Menu, only reason for eating there.

Room Tip: Room 117 was fine if you don't want a view. At the back, away from the busy road.

Its always essential that you check what has been booked for you, especially if using a third party to book for you. I am delighted that our team managed to move things around to accommodate you both.

We stayed here twice, one night in August on our way down south, followed by two nights on our return trip north. We were in a Club Room which was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent however meals in the Bistro were only average. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Bus links into the centre of Edinburgh were very good and the journey took about 30 minutes. The number 44 bus returns from a stop just round the corner from Jenners department store, just off Prince's Street. Due to extensive building works, until at least late 2018, car parking is very limited so I would advise leaving the car at the hotel and using the bus.

I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. We always advise our gusts to take the train or bus into the city centre to avoid traffic congestion and parking charges.
