Stayed here for 2 nights over the Easter holidays. The hotel is out of the city centre but the bus stop is straight outside. The room was clean & we had a good view of the castle. The evening meal food service & food were ok. The 'FREE' children's food options was a bit disappointing as the food had been out for a while so the kids ends up having some of hours. Overall ok though.

Dear JENGRAD, thank you fro your review. It's great to read you enjoyed your stay with us. We do understand children, when hungry, can be impatient and therefore we did a buffet for the children staying with us so parents can enjoy remainder of their dinner. Hope to welcome you back soon.
Sincerely,

The Holiday Inn Edinburgh is in Queensferry Road and was easily found and provided plenty of parking. (Something rare in Edinburgh). The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were of a good size and well appointed. The building is looking a little tired but is still well worth visiting.

Room Tip: no issues with the room we had.

Good location with easy bus access. Shopping center across the street - also nice.

My room (301) was weird in that it was large with the smallest bathroom ever, smaller than even in NYC. The shower was a triangle (half a broom closet) and there was so little room I banged my shoulder when I went to pick something up.

There are no USB charging possibilities in the room, and the only outlets were ten feet from the bed. Bring multiple UK converters if you halve more than one thing to charge.

I also had to fight with my a/c, which kept turning off during the night even though I turned it back on.

Bring your own washcloths because there are only towels in the room.

Breakfast was fine.

I would say the best things about this hotel were proximity to bus lines and their friendly and helpful staff.

Short stop over in Edinburgh before travelling on to Stirling. We were made to very welcome when checking in, especially as it was fairly late. We had a comfortable family room with 2 double beds and quite a small bathroom. Our view over the city of Edinburgh was really good and looking towards the castle. Breakfast was buffet style and there was plenty of it (I tried haggis for the first time and I liked it!) and a great selection.
We had a quiet family room on floor 6

Twice over recent weeks I have had the opportunity of having lunch at the Holiday Inn City - West, and on both occasions I was very impressed by the quality of both the service and the food. On the first occasion I was with a family group and on the second with one other. The Restaurant Supervisor, Maria, was welcoming and helpful on both occasions, and I particularly enjoyed (twice) the bacon steak - generous and moist are the words I'd use.

Room Tip: As a local was only there for lunch
