Stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel location was good, about 15mins walk from Waverly and the Old Town and within easy reach of a Tesco express, bars, restaurants etc. We were allocated room 106 had a view overlooking a garden area at the back and as a result was very quiet. We had the window open all night and didn't even hear traffic.
Staff were very helpful and answered queries on public transport etc.
The room was nicely decorated, large, and well equipped with hairdryer, ironing board, iron and a welcome hamper including crisps, chocolate cake and biscuits as well as the usual tea/coffee/water. This was replenished daily. The room wasn't cleaned during our 2 night stay but replacement towels were provided on the second day. Had a couple of drinks at the bar at reception, which were reasonably priced. Didn't have breakfast as decided to have this outwith the hotel but a continental breakfast can be provided for £6.50 pp.
My only gripe is that the room was described as a double, however this was actually two singles pushed together which wasn't as comfortable as a double would have been.
Overall, a fantastic stay and would recommend this hotel to others.More
