My favorite place in Edinburgh. Share a calzone and some pasta and you'll have a great meal. Affordable prices and great staff.

Giving them full marks! I had walked by this place numerous times and was quite taken by the modern and chic appearance of the premises and so one day decided to actually step inside and partake of the Italianesque faire on offer. I describe it in this way because although there are traditional Italian dishes on offer there are also traditional British dishes, so the menu does have broad culinary appeal.

Perhaps one of the most exciting features is the location. It has a certain Blade Runner feel to it as the diner sits by the panoramic glass frontage of the restaurant after dark he gets all the atmosphere one might expect in the urban setting, with the teaming masses shuffling past the large neon lit windows that presents the protective barrier between diner and the envious consuming eyes just a glass pane's width beyond. This brooding and artificial milieu is only heightened by the dipping and weaving lights of motorized transports further to the rear of this mad city scene of contrasting effects.

And you haven't yet eaten! You choose a seat and within a minute or possibly two a waitress of not insignificant beauty catches you by surprise and requests your order. Taken aback by this vision of loveliness you look around and you notice there are more of them, a full compliment of dining cheerleaders in matching uniform as if captured from a Tinto Brass movie. It occurs to you that the business owner must be some testosterone fueled Italian lothario who knows how to exploit feminine allure for the purposes of selling Italian nosh, but then the overall effect would be lost if the nosh failed to meet the presentation values.

No risk of that though, the Italian food tried here met the simple but satisfying expectations one expects from Italian food. The Italian beer is a nice touch to compliment the food. Moreover the pricing is bang on the nail, you really can't complain with the quality cost ratio of the food and the charming service is only the icing on the cake. Magnifico!

O how we need one of these cute Italian eateries in my home town! We are missing out big style. This bustling little piece of Italy is fantastic for great food, excellent prices, wonderful busy busy staff, but most of all an atmosphere you just cannot create without all these things put together. This place after only eating here twice is now top of my list for Italian restaurants. Some reviewers complain about how busy it can be! Eh is that not what you want to see in a eating establishment (maybe a clue to how good it is). The fact you cannot book is an excellent idea and adds to the anticipation as you hurriedly approach it....will I get in or will I not. Stand and wait that's my advice, this place is busy for a reason.
So Taste of Italy back to Stirling......any chance!

Thank you for your compliments. I will pass them on to the entire team as they work hard to please our guests.
The screens are on music channels as many of our guests often dine on their own and it is pleasant for them to have something to watch. We look forward to your return.

This place is very busy which is always a good sign. The ice cream is handmade and you can instantly tell the difference. Very good.
