The hotel is part of a private club - it has a really unique feel to the place - almost like its stuck in a time warp. The private rooms and people sat around talking in small groups takes you back to a bygone era - all very pleasant and away from the busy streets of Edinburgh. We had a wing commanders room (plaque on the door) - very well presented with all mod cons but still with a very traditional feel. The staff are very friendly and I would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in central Edinburgh that is not a chain hotel

Perfect location for visiting the old town. The hotel is a converted Officers Accommodations. Rooms are very basic but clean and a nice bathroom. Floors creak but seems to add to the charm of the place. I noticed meals were reasonable although I did not eat there.

We were disappointed that no lunch or dinner facilities were available on the Sunday or bank holiday Monday. Perhaps the club could consider providing a bar meal when the main dining room is not available.

Needed some time away and a change of scenery and Royal Scots Club has been a favourite forsome time. Check-in staff very welcoming. Rooms are always well presented and spotless. On this occasion we were in a bright family room. Large and well appointed. Unfortunately the family rooms do not have a separate shower but I had been advised of this on booking. Dining room staff fell well short of the mark on this occasion as the
