“Great Location, Well Appointed and Perfect for our Needs”
Reviewed 11 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Craigwell Cottage was in a perfect location where we were able to walk to all of the major attractions. These included Holyrood Palace, new Scottish Parliament and Edinburgh Castle as well as Salisbury Crags, Holyrood Park and Calton Hill. The house met all of our needs and communication with Susan both before, via email, and on arrival where she met us and showed us around and answered questions, was excellent.

“Every detail tended to....”
Reviewed 29 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

This house has fantastic reviews here on Trip Advisor and they are well deserved! From the start we could see that Susan was efficient and attentive. She was prompt answering questions before our departure, gave excellent walking directions from the train for our late arrival and access into the key box, and every amenity is available in the house. We did laundry and found the instructions well laid out. You have tv although we don't watch it, dishwasher, coffee or tea, nice biscuits, comfy beds, a nice walk to their garden, parking off street...the list is endless. The house was our favorite in the month of hotels we endured on our trip.We didn't want to leave! Location amazing.... a block to the Royal Mile, three to Holyrood. Definitely stay here when you visit Edinburgh.

“Perfect location”
Reviewed 23 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

The cottage was in a perfect location from the Royal Mile and Princes Street. You can see King Arthur's Seat from the window and the Palace of Holyroodhouse is three blocks away (during our stay prince Charles and Camilla were our neighbors). We walked everywhere: to Edinburgh Castle, Sir Walter Scott Monument, Princes Street, along with all the neighboring shops and pubs. A small grocery store is only a couple blocks away. The Cottage comes equipped with everything you need and the owners are very accommodating. Overall it was a great stay in a beautiful city.

The cottage is very conveniently located, a stone's-throw from the Royal Mile. It's comfortable and well kitted-out--altogether a perfect base. The owner's recommendations for things to do were also very helpful (for families with children, yes, the Camera Obscura is obligatory!)
