Great bento boxes. I had the eel Don which was delicious. I will be back to try the ramen. Friendly attentive staff during a busy lunchtime during the fringe

We came across Tang's unexpectedly right in the shadow of the Greyfriars Bobby statue and as lovers of Japanese food thought we'd give it a try. Small and unimpressive from the outside it spreads over two floors inside with the warmest welcome and very attentive service inside. Tempura soft shell crab was a highlight starter with super fresh sushimi and sushi for mains, crunchy Katsu Curry and excellent, affordable wine. Two courses and drinks for £20 per person a bargain, come for the value but stay for the wonderful food!

Very helpful staff to back up their excellent food.

Tangs looked after us very well even though it was a busy night during the Edinburgh Festival.

Just dismal. I know we ate during the Fringe, when the whole of Edinburgh is busy, but the restaurant itself wasn't packed out.
Table for three, two of whom had starters, and 3 main courses. All arrived at the same time. The 'Hell Ramen' was pretty mild - maybe it was snowing in hell on that particular day? The quality of the rest was mediocre.
A couple of soft drinks and one glass of wine. Almost 80 quid.
The service was ridiculously slow. We ended up leaving to have dessert elsewhere because of the time they had taken to bring the other stuff. Another table left to catch a train without eating, despite having ordered some time before. Save your money and time and go elsewhere.

We popped in for lunch yesterday. The restaurant was nice with multi-levels so had lots of seating.
We are from Vancouver where sushi is outstanding. This is more of a noodle house - with limited sushi and maki items.
The California rolls were not enjoyable and you can't screw up avocado rolls. My husband ordered the Chicken curry Don bill and it was tasty.
I felt it was over priced for what we received.
Dismal wine list that don't pair with sushi at all.
Would not return.
