My wife and I stayed at 57 High Street over the New Year's festivities and we really loved it. The house is well located near restaurants, supermarkets and shops, yet the street it's on is very peaceful. The interior decor is beautiful and everything we needed for cooking, sleeping, baths, etc was provided. Besides that, it was thoroughly clean and when we arrived there was even a basket of goodies welcoming us! The owner was very friendly and helpful throughout. We'd definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to anybody thinking of doing so!
We (husband, daughter of 4 and me) had a wonderful stay and a great start to our trip to Scotland. Liz welcomed us with self-made potatoe soup, a basket full of delicious things to eat and flowers. What a start! She also gave us valuable tips what to do in the area. Did I mention the wonderful interior that was decorated by Liz with such good taste. I‘m an interior dec fan and will „borrow“ some of her ideas ;-). The apartment is really well equipped, apart from clothes you would not need to bring anything else (almost :-)). Kirkcudbright is a lovely town and there are plenty of things to do there and in the area: Threave Castle, with kids the Cocoa Bean factory, the beaches, a little bit of shopping etc.. So - thanks for a wonderful and relaxed time.
The cottage is comfortable, well equipped, with free on-street parking always available. The lounge is bright and airy and a pleasant room to relax in. The bed was very comfortable too. It's in a great location for reaching all the facilities on the town.
The welcome pack with a good taster of the variety and quality of food available in the town and surrounding area.
We would happily return here and are happy to recommend a stay here.
Liz is a wonderful host. Helpful, friendly and warm.
No 57 was a joy to stay at - perfectly situated for exploring Kircudbright and the surrounding areas. Shops and pubs for good meals and the bonus was the Hornel's Broughton House and garden literally a stone's throw away. Well equipped, warm, and comfy and lovely views from the windows. Welcome basket of goodies was unexpected and FREE PARKING outside!
Good base in the old part of Kirkcudbright for exploring the town and the surrounding countryside. Handy for shops, restaurants and bars.
The kids loved that the swimming pool was close by.
We had a lovely welcome from Liz with a basket of treats waiting for us on our arrival. Beds made and towels provided, always handy not to have to bring your own.
Liz, the owner, was particularly helpful in providing extras for the young twins in the party, stair gates and cots being there meant we didn't have to bring our own.
Definitely recommend and would be happy to stay again in the future
