In the town of Kirkcudbright and next to the quay and river lies this converted fish store. It is comfortable for 2 people but be prepared to bang your head or be careful in the bedroom as the ceiling slopes!!!!
The kitchen / diner is well equipped and the lounge spacious enough.
When we stayed 2 light bulbs were not working and the cooker smoked rather alarmingly but the owner was keen to rectify the issues.
Parking can be a difficulty especially as there were workmen renovating a house opposite.
It it a good base though for exploring this part of the world.
Overall a pleasant place to stay and we can recommend it.
we had never been to this area before and the Old Fish House proved to be the perfect base. It is a lovely little house overlooking the river, very clean and comfortable. The town of Kirkcudbright itself is a lovely artists town with lots of small independent galleries and interesting places to visit. Highly recommend the Selkirk Arms when eating out. Would highly recommend the Old Fish House if you are planning a visit to this area of Scotland.
Super location, well appointed, high standard spec., good kitchen and accommodation. Will return for sure..
