Stayed here when in Campbeltown on business and it is a lovely hotel.

It has recently been renovated I think.but they have kept the original features.

High standard of fixtures and fittings, excellent staff and excellent rooms.

I must also say the breakfast was excellent. Great selection of hot and cold food.

I highly recommend this Hotel.

We were visiting friends in Campbeltown when we decided to have a coffee in The Royal Hotel. Each time we have been met by Joan and what a lovely person she is. Joan has been so very welcoming each time. She really makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. She has a lovely way about her and has time for everyone. Joan really makes you laugh and has many stories about the area. Definitely a place to go, not just for a coffee and a mince pie but that gorgeous Scottish accent and hospitality.
Will definitely be back again next year.

The Hotel could not be faulted. Extremely courteous and helpful staff on Reception, involved with service and in the Restaurant & Bar areas.
The room was beautifully appointed as was the en-suite bathroom.
Breakfast was a delight with a selection of fruit drinks, cereals and fresh fruit on offer. There was a good choice of cooked breakfast, all of which was delicious.
The Hotel, staff and their service provided the perfect place for my Wife's Birthday break.

Stayed at your hotel over the weekend and was firstly disappointed that in most of your photos you show big rooms with a bath only to find we had got a small room with no bath (and next to no toilet roll, if we had been a couple of hours more in the room we would most certainly have run out).
The meal we had was ok, but the big and utterly disappointment was the breakfast. Now where do I start!! We got shown to our table which was a 2 person table and with all the bits and bobs that were laid out there was not very much space for the teapot and cup & saucer. We ordered 2 full breakfasts but in the mean time my husband was having fruit and yogurt, the breakfasts came out while he was still eating so with how small the table was he had to hold the bowl in his hands to get his breakfast plate on the ever so small and filling up table. The breakfast came out and was only look warm (I work in the catering industry and I know the min temperatures of food and certainly this wasn’t reaching that point). When we eventually found the waitress who had disappeared for at least 5 mins we asked if we could get them reheated and she said yes. We them waited a further 5 to 10 mins to get our reheats back only to find out the cook had accidentally banged the 1st plate onto the other plate and had to starting plating our breakfasts up again.....
sorely disappointed and it didn’t work out that cheap for us either!!!

Dear Marion,

Thank you for taking time to write about your experience in The Royal Hotel. We appreciate your comments and we apologize if we have not met your expectations. The Royal hotel is a historic structure that has two different styles of rooms, Classic and Superior, which are each configured somewhat differently and have different sizes, amenities, and price ranges.

Thank you also for mentioning the table size. It is the first time I have heard this comment since we opened and we will keep your comment in mind for future improvement.

We hope you will consider returning again in the future and give us an opportunity to welcome you back to our community.

Sincerely,
Greg Sherwood
