“Hidden gem among the town buildings”
Reviewed 15 February 2012

Quiet well hidden as its at the back of M&S which isnt really on the route for normal shopping...its a huge old house with all original fixtures and fittings, dates back hundreds of years and well worth a visit..its free...there are awkward winding original stone stair cases to each floor so maybe unsuitable for people who have difficuly with steps, there is no lift as house is original and would be spoilt with modern appliances added...definatly worth going as fills a good hour maybe two if you like to read and watch video presentations about the building...there is a cafe on the ground floor which we didnt go in as was cram packed but that is a good thing as says it must be good...sorry im not able to give a very intellectual description about the house but im basic lol..worth a visit though

A lovely old house with a helpful guide. Free entry - and a sweet cafe in the basement.

“Provost Skene`s House”
Reviewed 2 January 2012

This is a good place to get a coffee, tray bake and a sit down during a hectic Saturday of shoping. It is close to the centre of town, but is a haven of calm and you can always get a seat.

“Decent and open on Mondays”
Reviewed 29 December 2011

Provost Skene's house was a good attraction for a Monday afternoon as most museums and other tourist attractions in Aberdeen are closed on that day. There wasn't too much to see in the house, but it had some interesting history and artifacts inside. If you're bored on a Monday, this would be a good place to check out if you are downtown.
