This Travelodge is very convenient for restaurants and facilities in Aberdeen and under normal circumstances this would have been a solid 4 stars. The room was very good, and quiet. As always I am totally unimpressed by Travelodge's policy of charging £3 for internet access above half an hour, but as the room only cost me £27 I will let them off this time!
Unfortunately two things detracted from our stay. The first was parking - we arrived at 6pm and there were no free spaces available. As such we had to park out front, which is £4 for 2 hours, outwith 8pm - 8am. I was resigned to having to go down to put a second £4 in at 8am but my bedside alarm was beaten to it by a fire alarm at 6.45am (apparently not by someone having a shower with the door open - maybe the sausages were burning?). So out everybody trotted for a cold drizzly early morning rendezvous on Justice Mill Lane. Not fun at all. :(
This should be a 4 star review but I'm afraid the parking situation and the 6.45 fire alarm both get negative points.More
