Just one night with family and friends but this was the perfect venue. Set off the beaten track but just 10 minutes from the city, there is an air of relaxation as soon as you enter the hotel. The staff are helpful and welcoming. The bar/lounge is the perfect place for a long afternoon relaxing session with fires and comfy seats. The food is excellent and the room superb comfortable with huge double beds. Breakfast was superb and all in all, highly recommended. if it was good enough for the Clintond, it'll do for me.

We had a very enjoyable overnight stay. We were looking for a dog friendly hotel and were pleased to be able to book a suitable room. It is unfortunate that the dog can not come into the bar area and had to stay in the room. The bar area has two gas log burners that are very cosy to sit next to.

Staff are a strength of this hotel. They are very friendly, welcoming and do their jobs well.

The bedroom itself had a huge and extremely comfortable bed. I slept pretty well despite the television turning itself on in the early hours of the morning! There were negatives. The view from the room was a wall. I wouldn’t wish to stay more than a night due to this. This was a superior room and I thought was to have a garden view.

I identified various issues with both the bedroom and en-suite on the feedback form that was left in the room. They are not major and could be easily addressed. They would not prevent me from returning.

Breakfast was very good. It wasn’t piled high on the plate and was well cooked. The evening meal was fine.

The hotel itself hasn’t really changed over the years and is now ready for a makeover. I believe it is under new ownership. The place has charm that should be retained however it could become an even better product. With some flair and imagination this could be a very beautiful country hotel.

Room tip: Avoid room with a view of the wall!

I completely agree with the previous reviews. The hotel is excellent, beds are super comfortable. The hotel staff at check in could not be more welcoming and helpful. Our room was spotless with s great view to the magnifcent grounds. We were not happy with breakfast quality ,variety and attention, this is according to us a weak point at this hotel.

Love this hotel- our room was a suite and the bed was one of the most comfortable that we slept in in all of Ireland! The grounds are beautiful and so worth a walk around! Roisin and Conor are so nice and so welcoming! Our dinner here was very good as well- and breakfast the next day- very nice! With lots of gluten free options too!
