Visited here with my mum. Found the entrance down a small alleyway a bit odd at first, but when we were seated we had a lovely view over hilly Derry and there was a nice atmosphere. Lovely selection of fresh italian breads to the table. The service was a little slow however we didn’t mind and enjoyed savouring each course- I hate being rushed! I asked for bruschetta which wasn’t really on the menu but it wasn’t a problem! Had 2 pasta dishes including cannelloni and found all the food very fresh and very intensely flavoured. It was clearly homemade with care and attention! We had slice of lime pie for dessert which again was very authentic and homemade. Just like mama used to make! Lovely owners, fresh flavoursome food and lovely authentic italian experience so for these reasons I’d definitely recommend a visit!

A very quiet Weds evening for our visit. But food was very good. Usually booking is required, but maybe due to Half Term hols that atmosphere slightly lacking. A bit pricey, but very enjoyable.
Doesn't have frontage on Carlisle Road, but you have to go through an opening off the main road. Just down slightly from the public car park

Excellent food and excellent hosts. Great Italian flavours. The best steak I have eaten in Derry - cooked to perfection (well done - usually burnt!). Staff attentive and courteous.

I was unexpectedly in Derry for work, and didn't have any reservation on a Saturday night. After trying to get a table in a few other restaurants and being turned away we found La Sosta, and we are so glad we did!
They were fairly full but squeezed us in. We both had gorgeous authenic pasta dishes and a lovely bottle of wine. Highly recommend!

Visited La Sosta A few weeks ago. The restaurant is nicely decorated the menu is limited but the food is ok. portion size a bit small I had a prawn and mussel starter and there was only 2 prawns in the dish. My main course of sea bream also only had 2 pieces of fish which were tail end pieces and didn't taste the freshest. Staff were all very nice the wine list is extensive and well priced. Worth a visit if you have no other recommendations but have a snack first.
