Passing by bars on Hill street and found that one was busier that the reset, The Dirty Onion. Well, Yardbird is the second floor restaurant for the bar.

First off the star of the evening was Adam. He was running food line alone, which in a smaller place would be one thing but as we came in a he was getting an order for a 20 top. He nailed every one for the plates and had them all served in right at 10 minutes from the time was order was placed. Watch him check the temp of every chicken off the spit and handle all foods efficiently and constantly cleaned behind himself so he always had room to work. Straight out Adam rocks and never sweats special orders or the random questions thrown at him.

Natalie was our server and she was great. Ready to answer all questions and quite helpful for my brother with allergy issues. My father is older and she was patient and kind during our entire experience.

I know - get to the food. Great prices and great food!! The rotisserie chicken was moist and well cooked. The ribs, St Louis ribs were tender and had great flavor. The wings were perfectly done, fully cooked and the sauce was really balanced BBQ sauce. The slaw, while good, was not what I was used to so different but good.

The restaurant reminded me of a BBQ joint from the 60s. The decoration is not fancy, there is old rock and blues music in the background and the food is the star. I had the Yardburrito for lunch, which had rotisserie chicken in a wrap with other things you would find in a burrito. It was delicious, filling and a great value at 5 pounds. My wife had 1/4 chicken with a side for the same price and wished she had ordered more because the chicken was so good. Our companion had a wings and ribs combo, with the meat just falling off the bone tender. I loved the honesty of this place and its focus on first-class food.

If you don't want rotisserie chicken, wings or ribs don't come here - that is the entire menu. We had the ribs (average - over cooked but sauce was good) and wings (above average - moist with good sauce). Pretty dark, noisy, but service was good. On the whole, if you want chicken, then this would be a good choice.

Just a few meters away from one of the must see the graffiti streets in Belfast, the place offers unique atmosphere. There's a label that this is the oldest building in Belfast. We sat at the table facing the grill so it was good to see the cooking process. The prices are great especially the combo deals - a whole chicken + 2 side dishes & 2 craft beers is 22 pounds. The chicken is really really good. On the first floor there's a bar 'The Dirty Onion' which looked nice, too. Recommended place.
