I visit the Linen Hall library regularly, from a great cuppa coffee good snacks, fantastic prints of old Belfast, a few of which I have in my home, if you want to relax after shopping or from sight seeing, this is a lovely place to visit, the Library holds an incredible wealth of history of Northern Ireland, from newspapers, politics, a great place to start if you're tracing realtives/ancestors etc, YOU MUST VISIT!!

Really lovely and well worth a visit. Just the size of the place is awe inspiring. A very nice piece of history.

Freedom, Equality, Brotherhood...get yourself enlightened in this old Linen Warehouse. The library gets its name from its existence in the old White Linen Hall that once stood where the City Hall now stands. This library is the legacy of an educated group of Belfast people who began importing books in the 1780s. Everyone is welcome...there is a cafe...and it is a wonderful place to spend some quiet time. Pick up a book and read up on some local history, or just sit down and soak up the atmosphere.

Almost hidden right in the city centre. This is a little gem. Right from the framed books on the lovely staircase at the front door, through to the lovely coffee shop (don't sit at members tables though!) and out to the modern and funky rear staircase with it's amazing collection of posters telling the history of Northern Ireland through glimpses into it's past. Just a joy to visit.

spent many happy hours here doing research as a student. Staff always friendly and helpful. Nowadays. Soup and a sandwich in its lovely cafe on a city visit is highly recommended.
