We stayed 1 night in July. Our room was in the old building - which looked like a former dockyard warehouse. Inside it was lovely and modern. Reception and the atrium were very impressive. The room was nice - standard Novotel design. We had lunch and pre-dinner drinks in the Bar - which is has a modern, industrial, shabby-chic look. We had 3 starters - some baked cheese, Calamari (just 3 rings) and a pigs head terrine. The food was very nice - but the portion sizes and the price (£11 for the baked cheese) - we felt not good value. Leisure facility was good - with an unusually large pool. The steam room had some issues with tile grout or filler which was somehow 'melting'.

This Novotel is a short walk from the city centre (about 15 mins walk from the central train station). There is an on site restaurant and bar although the average pub grub on offer seems somewhat expensive. As you would expect from a Novotel this is a modern clean hotel with professional staff. Rooms are well appointed with a good size TV and a modern well appointed bathroom with a good shower. The hotel was busy, as I’m sure it is most weekends but having booked a twin room some time ago, I was disappointed to find a double bed with an additional sofa that had not been made into a bed. I asked at reception for it to bed made up and it took a further two hours. Not very proactive, surely a twin room should be presented as such? However, we went out to the cricket for the evening match, so it was not a major issue.
The hotel did redeem itself the following morning with a truly fantastic breakfast. The cooked breakfast was plentiful, hot, fresh and tasty with cold and continental options available.
Good value for what we paid, good location and will likely use again, but management, please configure your rooms to the guests booking requirements.

I stayed here for one night as I was involved in a conference being held at the hotel the next day. The Novotel is halfway between Cardiff city centre and Cardiff Bay (both approximately a mile away) in a pleasant area that felt safe for walking solo.

I have stayed in numerous Novotels around the country and the room I had was pretty standard in terms of layout and facilities, which is of a good standard for the money. Staff on check-in were friendly and efficient, although not so successful checking out the next day due to the member of staff not realising my room account had been pre-authorised for incidental expenses, which caused confusion when I settled up my car parking charge (£12 for 24-hour stay). A supervisor called John sorted it all out for me, and no harm was done.

The food in the hotel was pretty decent, both in terms of the breakfast, and also the lunch for the conference delegates. The hotel reception area is light and airy although the large amount of glass windows resulted in very high temperatures due to the warm sunny weather, it was like a greenhouse. In contrast our conference room was quite cool, which actually worked well as respite from the unusually hot weather conditions.

The hotel has health and fitness facilities although I didn't use them.

Overall it was a pleasant stay, good value, and I would happily stay here again.

Stayed here for a couple of nights as part of a group and was very impressed with the hotel. They are clean, large with comfortable beds (not soft if that's what you require) and provide all the facilities you need. Hotel location is also good as it's about 3 mins from town and about 10-15 mins walk. Not in the heart of nightlife so peaceful and it's inbetween the bay and the city centre.
Missed breakfast the first morning but wished I had made the effort to go. Delicious and a great spread of items.
Nice bar downstairs as well. Welcoming and nicely designed with screens showing the World Cup while we were there. Definitely would stay here again.

Stayed one night in order to attend grandaughter's graduation. Location was good as was parking. Room clean and well equipped. Staff were friendly and efficient. Only criticism is the fact that bar area is almost all glass and therefore uncomfortably hot.
