This hotel is in an ideal location for both the city centre and the quayside. Approx 20 minute walk from the city centre and 10 minute walk from the quay. The location means that there is little chance of having hen or stag parties passing in the early hours.
The hotel is exactly what you need, it's not luxurious (the price reflects that) but it is clean, comfortable with a good breakfast available. We had a view over the car park, despite this it was still quiet at night and our friends had a waterfront view (not the harbour though) The staff are very helpful and polite. Definitely somwhere to consider when visiting Cardiff

Stayed here for one night. The rooms aren't very big but were quite comfortable. The only thing I can't understand is in a room for two - why do you always only get one chair. We were on the ground floor but there is a lift. The reception area is very bright and airy and overlooks the waterway. Tea and coffee is provided in the room but you can also get free drinks from a machine. Breakfast was also provided - the hot breakfast was scrambled eggs, beef sausage and beans. For some reason they no longer have bacon on offer - don't know why?? There is also a car park and the fee is £6 per day which is very reasonable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Turning left out of the hotel it is about a 5 to 10 minute walk to Cardiff Bay which is very interesting and well worth a visit. The Dr Who Experience and lots of restaurants. Turning right takes you into Cardiff city centre and this is about a 15 minute walk. We had a look round and then visited the Castle and spent an enjoyable 3 hours.

Room Tip: Ground floor room overlooking the water

Dear SuenBrianSolihull

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We haven't offered bacon at this particular hotel for over 5 years - however it is something that we are looking at and some of our sister hotels are trialling this at the moment as it is a request we often get from our guests. Although there is only 1 chair in our rooms we can put another one in on request - but many of our customers prefer to have the additional space. I'm delighted that you enjoyed your overall time with us and it seems that you managed to take in quite a bit of Cardiff while you were here too. We hope to welcome you back if you are planning on visiting again.

Kind Regards

On the river which is nice on the warm sunny afternoon we arrived on. Pub opposite and nice outside seating but not central for Cardiff city centre at all which we knew so no problem for us but just in case you were wondering!

Dear Tamfarrell

Many thanks for taking the time to review your stay with us. Many of our guests enjoy our peaceful location overlooking the wharf as it is a 15 minute walk into the city centre and only 10 minutes walk from Mermaid Quay.
We hope to welcome you back the next time you are planning a visit to Cardiff.

We have just had 2 nights here for our Cardiff break and are so glad we chose this one in the Bay area and not in town center. We arrived by train(Central Station) and took about 20 minutes to walk there past Callaghan Square and then a small set of canals. Our room was ready on arrival so we left our bags in the room and went to wander around the area. The lady on reception gave us a map and told us the places to visit. We went off to wander around the Quays, very nice area. The hotel was clean and right next to 'The Wharf' pub. The room was tidy and functional and the bathroom very nice.
Breakfast was the usual HI Express fayre, cereals, toast, yoghurts, hot selection of scrambled eggs, sausage, baked beans. Croissants and muffins, jams and spreads.
It took about 15-20 minutes to walk down to the Mermaid Quay area and less to walk to the Red Dragon Centre. Free wi-fi was very easy to get on to.
Overall very pleased with our choice.
