My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and thought that it was excellent value for money. The hotel had recently been refurbished so everything was very new and clean. The all you can eat breakfast was great value. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just a short walk from mermaid quay with all its bars and restaurants and is right beside a bus stop to get to the centre of cardiff. I would definitely recommend it.

We've stayed in quite a few Travelodges over the last couple of years, and have always found them to be universally clean, if basic. The Cardiff Atlantic Wharf branch is a great venue, with a whole ruck of activities literally seconds from the entrance, including cinema, bowling, and a good variety of restaurants. The branch itself has a good eatery, reasonable choices at good prices. We'd have eaten there in all probability, had we not made reservations across town. Buses into the City go from right outside the door, so no need to negotiate the weird one-way systems that Cardiff has in place to bamboozle the unsuspecting into an incipient nervous breakdown.

The new beds Travelodge have invested in -Sleepeezee systems that you can buy for your very own pad if you so choose- are the most comfortable of any hotel bed we've ever used. We went so far as to replace our $2000 mattress with the next one up in the range on the basis of our experience at the Llandudno hotel. The pillows are also lovely and soft, whilst supportive. Bedlinen is always bright white, towels white and fluffy.

Our highest praise goes to the staff, however. If they're not being paid a living wage, they sure should be. They obviously work so hard at making their hotels the best. Housekeeping is spot on, the rooms are always spotless, even when they're working with the more run down rooms. (As I understand it, the whole chain has now been upgraded, so that's less of an issue now). The level of professionalism we've seen overall is excellent, from front of house as well as behind the scenes.

The standard of attention to the basics is exemplary, others could learn from Travelodge. The standard is much higher than the price tag would suggest.

Stayed here after a problem with the Queen Street hotel.
Much more friendly staff after an initial problem checking in but the staff were very friendly and managed to resolve the issue quickly and then offered us complimentary breakfast. Which I would have paid for as was very nice and would have been worth the money,
Only thing I would say was the bed was abit hard and room was abit warm but otherwise was a great stay and would be using again

Stayed overnight at the Cardiff Atlantic Wharf Travelodge and the staff could not have made our stay any better. They were efficient, welcoming and helpful. We asked for a quiet room and were given one on the fourth floor. Would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was excellent and again the staff were most helpful.
