Alltybrain Farm Cottages
Reviewed 2 October 2016

We stayed a delightful week in Duck cottage. Patrick and Rose are wonderful hosts, there if you need them, yet it seems you have the farm to yourself. They were great in responding to our inquiry and very accommodating in every way. The cottage exceeded our expectations. The website, as complete as it is, hardly does it justice. The setting is bucolic and the cottage finish, both inside and out,is just as we would have wanted it. The bright, open living area has windows in every direction with pleasant view over the farm fields. There is a very private terrace with barbecue and table with great afternoon sun exposure. The bedroom was extremely large with good light and private views to the south over the sheep field. The bed, though comfortable, was a little less than ideal for a couple with two twins pushed together providing a gap in the middle. The bathroom was roomy and well outfitted with shower and tub. The kitchen had everything we needed for a comfortable weeks stay. Duck Cottage is the total package, well thought out, lovingly created, and immaculately cared for. I would return to Brecon if only for the opportunity of another stay at Alltybrain Farm.

Room Tip: Duck cottage was perfect

My partner and I went away for two nights and stayed at this lovely B&B

The room was lovely and inviting with beautiful views of the countryside. It was incredibly peaceful and we both slept fantastically in the lovely beds.
The bathroom was clean and and had a lovely powerful shower. (It's worth noting there is no TV in the room but this suited us as we wanted bit of an escape)

Breakfast was plentiful and good quality with plenty to choose from. Again the breakfast room was very nice with views out on to the local countryside.

Our host couldn't have been more friendly and we received a genuinely warm welcome. She has the right balance of being chatty but not intrusive and that helped to make it feel like a home from home. Our only slight niggle is that it might be good for them to offer guests keys to the property as she was late back one afternoon and we couldn't get in but again this is a small oversight and really didn't ruin our stay in the slightest.

The B&B is conveniently located 4 miles from Brecon and the national park so whilst you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere all the local amenities are only a short drive away.

We would definitely return, probably with our young daughters and would stay in one of the self catering cottages.

What a georgeous place. I am kind of lost for words. Sitting back in this beautiful bed with my feather Doona looking out at the welsh countryside. My little China cup of tea beside me. Four points Sheraton! I choose alltybrain cottages any day. Don't want to leave.

Room Tip: All look good

My partner and I stayed here when visiting the Royal Welsh show this year. I honestly can't tell you in words just how lovely this little gem is. It's in a very quiet spot with beautiful surroundings.
We had a lovely friendly welcome from Rose and Patrick, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast in the morning was delicious with lovely added extras of welsh cakes.
The room we stayed in was lovely it was spotlessly clean and very well decorated. The bed was so comfortable too!! There was also tea/coffee facilities available.
We had an en suite bathroom which had a bath and power shower. Again these were absolutely spotless with shower gel, bubble bath etc if required.
I would highly recommend this if your looking for somewhere to stay and relax and hope we will be back again sometime soon!!

This beautiful stone floor cottage is everything the website tells you and more, its romantic and cosy. The views are wonderful especially when the sun is coming up. The owners Rose and Patrick are the perfect hosts you couldn't ask for better. This is a peaceful place to stay but not far from anything you want to do like walks and shops.
It was always nice to get back to the cottage after a day out to just relax. If Duck cottage is taken there is Damson Cottage and the Hayloft but also B & B at the owners farm House. If you like peace and quiet then this is for you after a hectic day of walking or shopping.

Room Tip: nice views, comfortable bed, large shower or Bath
