“Perfect place to relax”
Reviewed 1 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We found the cottage to be the perfect place to relax and unwind. It's well-placed for exploring Snowdonia, Llanberis is a half hour drive through amazing scenery; we managed to climb Snowdon on the one good weather day we had. The cottage is ideal as a base for holiday activities or as a peaceful place to get away from the world and relax.

“Homely cottage in peaceful location”
Reviewed 22 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Lovely well equipped cottage off a quiet road in the village. Local well stocked Spar shop just up the road. Elen's Castle Hotel on the main road serves excellent evening meals. Superb bird watching from garden to mountain.

“Self-catering at its best”
Reviewed 3 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We have just returned from our third consecutive annual stay at Y Neuadd L Wyd and have already booked for next year, which speaks for itself. We have been holidaying in the village of Dolwyddelan for over twenty years. It is a beautiful, quiet and restful place to chill out, but geographically it is excellent for exploring North Wales, whether you use train, car or your feet. The accommodation is a very old building tastefully modernized to provide all that you could possibly want.in the way of personal comfort. A well stocked and reasonably priced Spar shop is 100 yards away, as is the pub. The railway station is 5 minutes walk away. Your host lives in the adjacent property with her husband and young family incase you have any queries which are not answered by the very full information folder in the cottage.

“Nice cottage if the weather is warm”
Reviewed 3 May 2015 for a stay in April 2015

The cottage is located in a lovely village which is an ideal spot for exploring Snowdonia and North Wales.. It has a nice well equipped kitchen and a lovely patio and garden area. The beds are comfortable and both bedrooms having en-suite bathrooms is an added bonus, however, some of the towels provided were very hard. We were unable to connect to the Wi-Fi on our ipads any time during our stay.
The weather was very cold during our stay and we found the heating in the cottage was inadequate. The electric wall heaters could not be set automatically, so unless they were left on all the time the cottage was very cold first thing in the mornings and when we returned in the evenings. Having a wood burning stove of our own we were very disappointed with the one in the cottage as it did not heat the lounge as much as we had expected. Some evenings to keep warm we needed to have the wall heater, wood burner and electric fan heater all running together. I would only recommend this property for summer vacations when the weather was warmer.

Management Response
14 Jun 2015
Thank you very much for taking the time to review our cottage, on a positive note we are delighted you think our cottage is in a ideal spot for exploring Snowdonia, has a lovely garden and patio area, has comfy beds and is well equipped something which lots of other reviewers have also commented on.
We also take on board the less positive comments, however, feel a little aggrieved as that on arrival having shown you around and handed over the key we let you know that if you had any problems as we live next door our door was always open and to feel free to knock.
TOWELS - All our towels and bedding are dried naturally on the washing line, although this does not leave towels as soft as artificially tumble dried towels we believe it is by far more eco friendly.
HEATING - Sadly the reviewer did not take us up on a free service we offer of lighting the fire daily before their return and we can't understand why as mentioned the heating wasn't left on as that is completely in the control of the customer themselves!
WI-FI - Although we advertise our cottage as receiving Wi-Fi we also make it very clear on all our adverts that due to the rural location wi-fi is limited, our village is not connected by fibre optic or cable therefore customers can not expect the same service they receive in towns and cities. Connection via 3G is advisable.

“Excellent for bedtime stories by the fire.”

This is a delightful cottage in an excellent location for exploring the area. The cottage was immaculate and very well equipped. The small courtyard garden was perfect for those odd blasts of sun. The only reason for a 4 overall was the Wifi which was very spasmodic. The owners are lovely and on hand as much as you needed them to be.
