Description: Conwy Falls Cafe is a beautiful purpose-built cafe set in 9 1/2 acres of SSSI native forest, with the spectacular back drop of the waterfall running through the River Conwy in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. Designed in the 30s by Clough Williams-Ellis, the cafe is a classic example of his design, and with its excellent car parking space, provides a perfect stop off at the gateway to Snowdonia.

Attentive friendly staff had us settled for table service in line with current Covid rules. I had a very tasty all day breakfast of vast proportions and the wife enjoyed her Welsh rarebit dish. All washed down with a generous pot of tea. All this for very good value. Whilst the menu not all that extensive can definitely recommend this eatery as one to stop by for a substantial snack.

Thank you for your review Carlaconsort, we're glad you enjoyed your breakfast! We have a smaller menu at the moment of all day breakfasts, paninis, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, soup and a few main meals plus cake and snacks etc as we have just re-opened after 9 months but we will soon be adding new delicious offerings as time goes on.

Don’t go here if you have an allergy of any description. After being shown to a table it took 10 minutes to order at which point we were told they had run out of most drinks with a very limited choice of cold drinks left. We were also told there was a 30-40 minute wait on food.. we had no problem with this.

There were several signs saying please let us know about any allergies. We informed them that one of our party had a pine nut/peanut allergy if consumed.

They came back to us to inform us that the kitchen couldn’t 100% say there would be no cross contamination. We said ok as we had epi-pen and it’s only if consumed and they had ordered a pizza.

They then went back to the kitchen (had been about 30 minutes from arriving at this point) and came back to us to say the chef was refusing to cook for us due to the allergy.

We had, had a very long journey with 3 hungry children and asked for some drinks to take away. I then waited another 5 minutes for her to come out with the same piece of paper she had written our original drinks order on and ask what I wanted!!!

Shocking service

Hi Taboo1471 Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to learn that your experience with us fell short of our usual high standards of service.

We have been advised by the Food Standards Agency that by law we cannot serve customers who have severe allergies due to our kitchen being very small and because we work with every allergen ingredient and therefore cannot guarantee that cross contamination will not occur.

We are happy for customers with allergies to bring their own food or if we are given 48 hours notice, we can source a pre-packaged allergen free meal for you.

We apologise if this information was not communicated to you in a timely way, we will strive to improve upon that. We also apologise for your wait for service and the lack of cold drinks. After being closed for 9 months and with restrictions still in easement, it's been difficult to predict how busy half term was going to be and we may not have always got it right in terms of staffing and food/drink stocks, but we're getting there. We will continue to take feedback on board and endeavor to learn from it and improve into the future.

We stopped here for a little walk and then came back for lunch. Due to covid rules we sat on an outside table with amazing views. The staff were really lovely and the food (especially the chips) was great.
