We decided to have dinner here, and although the food and drinks were nice, we were disappointed to find out (mid-meal) that they do not offer a no smoking area in their under cover outdoor seating area. It hasn’t occurred to me to ask about none-smoking areas as the pub does food and no one was smoking at the time we were seated.

However, as a table of 4 next to us were seated, they immediately lit up with no regard for the fact we were midway through our main course. I asked the waitress if we could move to a no smoking area as smokers were seemingly dotted all around the place at this point, but we were told they don’t offer that option. The beer garden has cover from the elements which is great, but as the smoke billowed up, it quickly shot back down again and spread across our table, had we not have been starving after climbing Snowdon, we would’ve grabbed the bill and left half way through.

I understand the need to cater for all, but as we are all having to sit outside these days, and your staff are working outside for most of their shift, it seems only fair that you should cater for both smokers and none-smokers. We decided not to have dessert or any more drinks and cut our evening short. Fortunately the Y Stablau just up the road offers a smoke-free environment so we had dessert and spent the remainder of the night there. A small change to the layout and having a designated smoking free area could make this a pleasant place to down an evening.

Had an excellent meal here. Due to covid they’ve had to half their menu, but the food we had (steak pie/ fish & chips/ pan fried seabass) was all delicious! Friendly staff & owners. The waitress had her first night and it was busy, so there was a bit of a wait, but chef Sonja‘s food was well worth the wait.

To walk into the hotel room, to see a blood stein on the bed sheet, holes in the walls, a toilet which was down the corridor, not next to the room (which we were not informed of), and also random steins across the walls, we were absolutely disgusted to say the least. The receptionist granted was friendly, yet no refund or any consolation for the disgraceful room was offered. Will never be going back again.

This Hotel is in a great position in the village just opposite the little bridge. We parked over the bridge in a small car park. The Hotel is lovely on the outside, on the inside we found it quite unkept. The floor as you walk in is what looked like the original tiles but was sticky and didn’t look like it had,had a good clean for a while, which is a shame as it’s th first thing you look at when you enter. We were booked in and given our key then told breakfast was between 8-9. We didn’t make the payment as the internet wasn’t working but the fella booking us in was too busy talking with his mates anyway. The room was ok, a bit dark with the dark grey walls but the bed was comfy and clean. We didnt eat any evening meals there as we had a walk and found other places to eat. The breakfast was ok.
It was more of a base as we went to climb Snowdon and wasn’t planning on spending that much time in the room. It is ok for a few nights, the staff were all really friendly.

As a party of 18 it was requested that we pre-ordered our meals from the normal menu. This meant the service was really quick, almost as soon as we indicated we were ready to eat all18 meals magically appeared within a couple of minutes, impressive.
I think everyone enjoyed their food and commented that the portion size was really excellent. No nouvelle cuisine tasting portions here, after a full day enjoying the National Park outdoor enthusiasts need a good plate of real food , and the kitchen here delivered very well.
We ate here on 2 successive evenings and the quality was similar on both, good full plates of tasty dishes so this was no flash in the pan.
The only minor comment was Friday evening was obviously karaoke night , and some of the aspirant singers were perhaps better than others!
