Reviewed 24 April 2011

We've just returned from a 2 night stay at Bryn Derwen. We were travelling with our 11 month old son and were given the family room in room 7 with a travel cot. Even with the cot, we had plenty of room. The room is tastefully decorated with a nice airy bathroom. We thought the room was very warm but put it down to the hot weather we had had that day. After about an hour, we realised that all the radiators were on high, so turned them down and things were a lot more comfortable!! The refreshments tray in the room was well stocked and replenished the next day.
When we booked and said we had our son with us, we were offered a cot and high chair to save us bringing our own. Each morning at breakfast, a table had been set up for us already with the high chair, which made us feel very welcome. The breakfasts are lovely, a good choice of cereal or grapefruit, fruit juice and then a hot selection including a great vegetarian breakfast and toast. With it being Easter, yesterday morning we were offered a hot cross bun and then this morning there was an easter egg at each place setting including a children's one for our son - little touches like these made the stay even better. A review below mentioned it would be nice to have had background music in the breakfast room, this appears to have been addressed as the radio was on both mornings and the atmosphere was very nice.
There are a lot of steps and it is on a hill so people with mobility difficulties might have problems with access.
There is a small carpark at the back of the property and 2 spaces in front of it at the roadside. The hill up to the carpark is very steep and we were told that the best way up and down is to make sure you go on to the black tarmac bit to try and avoid scraping the bottom of your car - we did manage it!!
All in all, a lovely stay in a lovely guest house!

We received a friendly welcome from the owner and were shown to a front facing double room. This was well appointed with excellent bed linen and everything was clean. Breakfast was good although some quiet background music in the dinng room would have helped to make us and the other guests feel more at ease. With private parking and reasonably priced accommodation, this is a good hotel and worth a stay.

We had a great stay at Bryn Derwen. Andrew and his family were so welcoming! The B&B is great, with yummy breakfast and a lovely front lawn, and is just a few minutes walk to the centre of Conwy or the castle or the sea.

I stayed here with my teenage daughter for one night in October. Our room was clean, bright and spacious, Andrew and Gill were lovely, they let us leave our bag in the room as soon as we arrived, even though it was only 10.30am.
Our breakfast was served efficiently, and was absoutely delicious, would definately stay again.

My wife and I stayed four nights at the Bryn Derwen in May. The room was very comfortable and clean. The guest house sits back from the road so even with the windows open it was quiet. It is located an easy 10 minute walk from the castle. The breakfasts were delicious and the host family is delightful. We felt very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
