We called in after booking a last minute table, as we were going to see a show in abergavenny. We were made welcome and was served straight away. I was intending to have a pudding after my meal, but could not fit it in, the dinner was very big. I had a steak and ale pie and it was delicious. The pastry and meat was really filling and very tasty but I struggled to finish it. This ended up being a very quick visit. The owner has lots of experience in the trade and it shows throughout your visit. The staff are very friendly. If you get a chance to visit, GO, you won't be sorry. Probably best to book a table as it does get busy

Called in here upon recommendation. We weren’t disappointed - What a lovely find. Had local Rhymney ale and glass of wine perfect pour. Sat out in the garden and thoroughly enjoyed 2 of our favourites- Steak and Ale Pie and Beef Lasagne, followed by a waffle with ice cream,to share, for afters. Service, staff, food and surroundings were all excellent.
Will return and pass on the recommendation.

A great local pub with lovely lunches. Service is great and nothing is too much trouble. I would advise to book though.

When visiting Abergavenny every month, I always pay a visit to this pub as it’s my favorite. It has a very nice garden to sit in when the weather permits. The food is on an upper level. Nice portions with lots of flavour. The staff is always nice and friendly. I would highly recommend.
