A group of 8 of us stayed at the Black Boy during the summer.

4 people out the group were doing the 3 Peak Challenge and the hotel were kind enough to let the 4 have a room to share in the early hours of the morning after finishing the challenge at Snowdon. The staff even set up a couple of extra beds. The group later split up in to four separate rooms.

Our room was very clean and spacious with a large bathroom, small kitchen and comfortable king size bed.

In the morning we had a lovely Welsh breakfast cooked to order.

A warm welcome no messing about code to car park and booked in within 10 mins, excellent warm room with plenty of character, used the restaurant on Saturday evening service and food was excellent with plenty of choice. Bar had a great choice of beers and was busy all weekend, great place to stay

2 night stay. Very comfy room, old fashioned hotel but appropriately so as built in the 1500s. Fantastic winter warming food, well priced and good selection of ales. No where else in Caernarfon touches this pub. A merry throng on a Friday night but not too noisy. Going back in the summer as the town was a ghost town otherwise

We loved our stay at the Black Boy Inn, it provided the quiet, relaxing weekend away we so desperately needed. The staff we encountered were polite and friendly, making us feel very welcome. The room was simple, we stayed in a 'basic double room' which we were informed on arrival was one of the smallest rooms, but it was cheaper! However, it had everything we needed and was perfectly comfortable. For a longer stay, or in the future, we may consider one of the other rooms, but the room fit its purpose on this occasion. The food was amazing, we ate here both nights of our stay and wanted to stay to work through the menu, we found the portions to be more than decent size, and everything was cooked to perfection!

In regards to the area there was not a huge amount to do, a lot of little shops to explore. The castle was beautiful and had the weather been better we would have been happy to spend a lot more time walking around and exploring all its nooks and crannies. We felt that we had seen all there was to see, without needing to rush or be too busy, but we also didn't feel like there was nothing to do at all; however, we did drive out to neighbouring areas during the day as well. One thing we noticed (and thoroughly enjoyed) were the abundance of pubs, serving Welsh brewed beers and ciders!

Thank you for the lovely review .Our smallest double is sold as this ,hence the price reduction on this room .
