A two night stay, whilst visit family and friends in the area during the Christmas and holiday season. Staff were very polite and helpful. A very traditional style if a little old fashioned, but quite an impressive building and lovely location in the heart of the town, but only minutes away from walks on the beautiful Malvern Hills. Tried out the restaurant for dinner which was excellent VFM and delicious food with good variety on the menu. Service was a little slow but stafff were very pleasant. Good hearty breakfast - full English was great - but good continental alternatives for the healthy option.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with views across the open countryside at the rear or the Malvern Hills at the front.

Booked this hotel on secret escapes and it was very good value. Prior to my visit I was emailed to see if I wanted to upgrade for £10 which was worth it as the room was in the old building with gowns and slippers and very large including a sofa ( room 236). The only minor would be that the bathroom was a bit dated and let the room down slightly. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and the food in the priory restaurant was very good. The hotel is in a fantastic location right in the rather grand town which was lovely to walk around. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a club room

We also stayed on a Secret Escapes deal bed breakfast evening meal and bottle of wine. which was very good value. The evening meal and breakfast was excellent and the serving staff were very polite and professional. The hotel is in a very good position next to the Priory Church with plenty of walks The hotel is old and showing signs of wear, but all the staff make up for this. We were in room 402 front second floor which had a small fridge, large TV bath/shower safe iron/ironing board should you need it. Also a lift to the room. It was a lovely stay. Thank you The Abbey Hotel

Room Tip: Room 402 was on the front

The Abbey Hotel is set alongside the Priory and has lovely views at the rear. It is quite an old building but inside the rooms are really well appointed and clean. The staff are pleasant and professional. We were there for the New Year for the second time and as usual the tables looked lovely and the meal was excellent. There was a disco and a live band, both good to dance to. The only criticism was that there wasn't an effort to make it special bringing in the New Year - no count down by the band. The room and bed were extremely comfortable. Although there was a choice for breakfast, it was somewhat mediocre. All in all we all had a good time.
