We actually selected Russell's based on the descriptions in previous TA reviews. We tend to like small, luxury, boutique hotels over the larger places but one would have to say Russell's is extra small, just not on the inside or on the service. Our room was huge and well appointed. And over our 5 night stay we got to know everyone from the owner Andrew on down to Tom, Charlotte, Marcie, Lawrence, Sarah,Rupert, Chef George and some names I regretfully do not recall. Service was outstanding and caring in every respect. We cannot say enough about the place. Breakfast was great, dining excellent, guidance for local attractions helpful and spot on. Russell's is TOPS in our estimation. Skip the big boys nearby and get a spot here if you can.

This is not a sleek modern glass box, but a somewhat ancient establishment which has all the charms (and most of the quirks) of an historic hotel. Our bed was comfortable and the water must have been the hottest I have ever experienced! The room was a wee bit squint and creaky, but that goes hand-in-hand with the charm of the place. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and cooked to order. Recommended.

We stayed here for two nights, the staff were polite and friendly, the room was clean and was perfect for what we needed, breakfast was very nice and we ate an evening meal here too which was of a very high standard, we would definitely return and also recommend Russell’s for a stay or a meal, a lovely relaxing stay

We stayed at Russells hotel for 4 nights while touring the Cotswolds. It was recommended by our tour guide. Our rooms were very roomy and nicely decorated with large en suite bathrooms. This is a small hotel over their popular restaurant but, even during June, the rooms were quiet. The included breakfast menu was surprisingly varied and delicious.

Room tip: Our two queen rooms faced High Street which has that charming village look. Very quiet in the evenings as shops close early.

Good feeling on arrival with a friendly welcome. Nice room overlooking the high street. Well furnished and comfortable. Main problem for us was a late (8.30am) breakfast start and slow service. Not useful with a long day’s walk in front of us. Otherwise, an enjoyable stay
