The staff at ego are brilliant. Really attentive, polite and genuinely lovely people.

Went this week as had an offer on. The food is average at best. £18 for a few bits of chicken on a skewer and sweaty microwaved translucent wraps is not good.

The pricing is totally out of kilter. There are local pubs that serve fresh local produce at a similar price point. The problem is the food at ego feels and tastes mass produced, expensive and basic.

A shame as again the staff are brilliant.

Took advantage of a birthday voucher deal with partner,5-30pm on a Thursday, Welcome was excellent, waitress was a young Hungarian female who never stopped smiling, she made us feel welcome and relaxed.
Meals were very nice, Prawn pasta dish and pizza, the pasta dish was very tasty and filling.
Atmosphere was relaxed and friendly with young couples and older customers,it did get busy but the wonderful staff easily coped.
The only complaint for me was that they don,t serve a Bitter type ale, i was told it was because its a cocktail bar, however they serve lager and pale ales on draft so why not Bitter.
The absence of bitter is a minor negative as on the whole we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the excellent service and will visit again.

Yesterday myself and five friends went for lunch and it was fantastic the service and food were excellent, empty plates all round on both courses. The menu is great, with something for everyone and great vegan choice. Definitely recommend the chick pea cakes and if you haven’t been to the Wellington give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
A big Thank you to the gentleman that served us, you were great snd couldn’t of done more for us.

A late lunch and the restaurant was still busy.
Nice friendly welcome.
Lunchtime menu is very good and reasonably priced.
We had the very tasty steak and ale pie with carrots and green beans with french fries. There had been a delay in the food arriving but it was worth the wait.
Finished with the ego mini and coffee. One the warm triple chocolate brownie and the other the sticky toffee pudding. Both very tasty and a perfect size with the coffee.
