Family members had visited this restaurant and raved about it. We were a party of four and were really looking forward to a great meal and a lovely evening. First impressions were good. We were warmly greeted and lead to the bar as our table wasn't quite ready. drinks were ordered, which were fine and within 10 minutes we were shown to our table. We were impressed with the size of the restaurant and the nice comfy atmosphere. The restaurant was nicely appointed. we ordered popadoms which arrived. There was a selection of popadoms but only a very tiny selection of chutney and onions...barely sufficient for one person, let alone 4 people. Scanning the Menu, we learned that the owner had married a real Prince! Wow! Now we understood why the prices were expensive. However, if the food is superb, we don't mind paying. Three of us ordered Fish Pakoras. These were not as good as other restaurants at less than half what Ashas were charging. Oh dear. Three of us ordered Chicken Keema. There was almost no sauce and it was so bland it was boring. No depth or quality. The fourth main was a fish curry with a very runny sauce that tasted awful and was so hot, it must have been five grades hotter than a vindaloo! The bill came to £190 for the 4 of us. Dick Turpin used to wear a mask! This was pure night light robbery! The service was excellent and the surroundings were really nice. However, save your money folks. There is no way we would ever go back...even if it were free!
