Been here a couple of times recently so decided to try the food before a show at the Blue & Orange theatre which is across the road. The Church has certainly been spruced up, its great to see it’s maintained its multi room layout. There’s a lovely roof top terrace too, and a restaurant at the back which doesn’t seem to be used often. This is a pity as one of my few criticisms here is that the pub tables can be a bit small when you’ve got a couple of big pizzas on them. We booked online through open table, there are 2 menus one exclusively for pizza, the other has “soul food” stuff like ribs. We both settled for pizza, Deb for a “godfather” it was interesting with added oregano. My pizza was a more of a meat feast. Both were of a good size, tasty and had a nice thin crust. There are 2 handpulls serving ale from Everards (in reasonable condition) and 2 cask ciders. Other beverages are available, we didn’t try the cocktails. At £22 for 2 pizzas and pints this is an excellent value meal out. The church is a good pub with a pleasing mixed clientele and nice efficient staff, well worth a visit if your on the edge of the Jewellery quarter.
